Do you miss your trade in
I traded a PT Cruiser for my first MINI a few years ago. At times I still kinda miss it, 'cos I had it tweaked just a bit with nice wheels, a chip and a few other gooodies. Plus it had gobs more room. Fun to drive, but next to the MINI there's just no comparison. So far I haven't had to haul anything I haven't had room for. But I have had it packed up to the gills to the point that I'd need vaseline to get anything else in (including a passenger), where I never came close to maxing out the PT. But the trade-off has been more than favorable!
miss my 90 Mustang GT everyday lol... never see them much anymore..
wasnt really a trade-in as I just Craigslisted it, and sold it within 5 days lol

Nice looking Stang. Mustangs that year are hard to part with. I do not drive mine much....but can't get rid of just now.
Jeep was the trade. Here's my Stang

I swore I would leave the Mustang stock...but started with the exhaust a month after I bought it and so on.
I swear I'm leaving the Mini stock....can I get a witness.
I'm verbalizing....nothing in writing.

Me too, I don't sell cars, I just buy them and keep driving the old ones forever.
I still have my first car, a 1952 MGTD, it is about 3/4 of the way through a frame up restoration.
I gave my 1982 GMC S-15 to my son in law. It still runs good , though it has 500,000 miles on it.

Cool thread. I didn't trade my 01 Civic coupe, sold it in about a week once I got bit by the MINI bug and I have absolutely no regrets. That Civic was my first new car and I bought it after I moved to Sacramento for about a year and was commuting 240 miles everyday to work (yeah, big mistake). It was a damn reliable car, but even after 110,000 miles I don't miss it because my MINI won't let me.
I bought my first MINI without trading anything in. Still owned my Suzuki Sidekick and my '73 classic Mini. I traded my '03 MINI in for my current MINI. Soon, I will be trading my MINI in on a Buick Gran Sport and I will not look back.
You bet your sweet a** I miss my trade-in. It was a 2005 Mitsubishi Evolution, fully loaded (Luxo Evo) tuned to almost 330 AWHP, ran 12's all day in Colorado, and could honestly take 5 people up to 160mph in a standing mile
Sweet car but did I mention it was $700.00 a month.
I traded that for my first MINI (R50) also fully loaded (no nav, or leather) sometimes I miss this one, like on longer trips. It had great milage, the red interior and all black paint gave it some class, but it just needed more power. It would have been a perfect canidate for the MINI RAT ROD project I would love to do.

I miss the gearing in my '98 eclipse rs... redline 1st, ~35, 2nd, 62 and tach drops to about 4 grand.. never redlined 3rd but it was probably over 90... people would do the 1/4 mile in such a car and not hit 4th unless you had a lot of mods.
traded it in for less than the cost of all the mods put into it, but oh well.

It happens man!!
as my little sister explains it so well, I went from a car that "snarled, coughed and wheezed" (I'd get a chuff noise every time I blipped the throttle due to the intake) like a deranged kitten to a car with a hamster stuck in the motor and screaming for dear life.
I traded in a Saturn VUE (well sold privately) for my MINI.
Yeah, the only thing I miss about the VUE is the storage space and the fact I didn't care if I "dented", scratched, hauled nasty stuff (worst ever was 3 dogs with "intestinal issues" to the vet. Glad I had a tarp in the back) in it. With the MINI, I am a little too ****.
However, other than the occasional time I need to transport, say a Kayak or sick dogs, I never think about that VUE.

I traded in an 06 Mercedes E350 for an 09 MCS. A lot of people considered it a downgrade but the mercedes was always in the shop and the last repair bill was $3500. So to me, the MINI was an upgrade.
