Put in a k&n panel filter. I know not a huge upgrade. I just don't know what cold air intake to get yet.

Mike, you need to at least get the NM Torque Arm Insert. I felt the difference immediately after installing. At The Dragon I'm getting the WMW Perf B/O valve installed. That will be it for me for awhile. Get on the ball man!

Not today, but on the menu for the next few weekends:

Replace windshield
Replace rear brakes, sensor and rotors
Replace serpentine belt

All parts in hand or ordered, belt tensioner tool on the way.

The only true CAI's are the JCW and the DoS. There's another one, but it looks like garbage. All the rest suck hot engine bay air. A friend just put the DoS on his 2011 MCS and he's happy as a clam. Works pretty good on my '08, too.

The stock air intake is a true Cold Air Intake. It has a pipe that runs from the air filter housing to the front of the car, on the driver's side. The standard air filter is a little restrictive, but that is easily remedied with a high flow drop in filter.

DneprDave, I'm not keen on an oiled filter. I know that there exists a better filters than OEM that do not use oil but don't know names/brands. Can you help?

It's hard to beat an oiled air filter for being free flowing. I have K&N filters on most of my cars, truck and bike, but I think I'll put Alta's foam filter on my MINI.

Subtle changes today! Swapped stock antenna with CravenSpeed stubby, swapped out MCS standard scuttles (90% chrome with red S logo) with the MC all-black ones (100% black, no S logo), threw in the rubber cubby hole floor in the center stack, removed the rear seat headrests for improved visibility.

Not for today, but soon: Waiting on black(ish) side scuttle turn signals from OutMotoring and some grille badges from GoBadges.com...and working up a chrome-murderin' budget for Vinyl Styles.

Yep, jack up just enough to get underneath and move around a bit. It's very easy, just remove one bolt and loosen another, swing the big end down, push in the insert, swing it back into place (big screwdriver to work it back into place) and then re-bolt. I'm getting the WMW Performance Blow Off Valve installed at The Dragon and am an inch away from deciding to do the same with the DoS CAI. DAMN this car is expensive!!! The DoS CAI will definitely be the last for awhile since everything else will cost approx. $1000+, ie: Exhaust, WMW Suspension Package http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-sus...n-package.html plus maybe fixed camber plates up front, a tune... BIG $!

Atomick, I LOVE my scuttles from Lyle at Vinyl Styles but I also love the boot handle:

It's not on Lyle's price list but if you want it, expect about $50. I think that it accentuates the boot nicely. Don't worry about doing the whole blackout thing at one time. I did scuttles and front bezels, then rear bezels, then boot handle, and finally belt line. It was a good way to spread out the costs.
