Nothing too special for mine otherwise, just a quick wash, clay and wax. Also figured I'd bust out the real camera, since all the pics I had until now were crappy cell phone pics.

Wow thats going to look nice.

Thanks! You can see them if you're looking straight on, though I have a feeling they won't be as noticeable once mounted. Here's a pic of the wheel face.

My toggle switch row separated from the front fascia. Dug it out, cleaned it up, fixed it and re-installed it. It rendered my toggle switch row useless.

I hope this helps someone else out if they encounter this issue. More pics and HOW TO in my R53 thread.

Attempted to install a boost gauge but, due to extreme anger and frustration, I didn't get very far. Anyone else have trouble getting the gauge into the alta gauge pod when using the silicone spacer that comes with it?

I replaced the PCV valve on my R53. The valve in the old one was stuck or something - it wasn't allowing crankcase pressure to vent through to the intake.

Wipeer woes

Hi guys,
I had the windshield replaced on my wife's 2012 Countryman S All4 yesterday - she had to drive my 15 year old Olds Bravada to work that doesn't have all the "fun" that the MINI has.
She calls me when she got to work this morning to say that the wipers were not working like they should. They were set on the auto mode and came on and swiped and then stopped (of course, living in the pacific northwest it was raining hard this morning). She had to manually turn on the wipers to keep the windshield cleared. The car has the sensors at the top of the windshield, but with the car parked at her work place I will have to wait to see if anything is disconnected.
Have any other MINI owners who have had to replace the front glass had this problem. Does something have to be reset?

Thanks for your tips and advice.

I had something similar on my '09 Clubman with auto wipers/rain sensor. The person that installed the windshield had to come back out and adjust something...believe it was that the sensor was not fully attached to the new windshield. When the third windshield went in, I watched the guy and he didn't have to reset anything - just had to attach the sensor to the windshield, which had the right attachment points built in.

Good luck!

Checked the oil, and the other fluid levels.

Then went for a Free Mini Wash.

Just got a CV Axle rebuilt, Powerflex LCA bushings installed, and WMW Strut Tower Plates installed. Gotta do the other upper Strut mount, a polished aluminum coolant tank and a bath for her tomorrow. Only a couple more things to do and I think I can take a rest for a little bit and just enjoy the drive. I do feel a little spoiled having WMW right around the corner from my climbing gym.

Took awhile, but I finally decided on tires. The RE-71R is currently the fastest of the 200tw street tires, but since I don't need two nationally competitive autocross cars, I decided to try something different:

Long story short, I decided to flush the blackened overdue brake fluid while mounting the wheels, got air in one of the lines somehow and had to redo it, so by the time I snapped a pic it was dark. But I took one anyway As for the drips on the driveway, I discovered an oil leak while doing an oil change the other day. Guess I have more work do to

Anyway, assuming I fix the leak, the car should hit the autox course at a local event November 20 and I may do a track day at The Driveway Austin before then. If I do, I'll start a new thread and review the tires - and the car

Gotta do that once in a while for sure to keep the Mini going!

Someplace in that signature you have, there should be a picture this Mini... or at least attach a pic.

Changed engine oil and filter. Drivers door wouldn't open from inside so took off door trim panel and with the aide of flashlight and mirror I was able to reconnect door cable at the latch assy and get the cable shield blue end into its proper snap in position. Door now opens as it should. Oh, and had to order a new door brake and A pillar cover.

Brake day

Today was brake day! Did a full brake job (rotors, pad, sensors and brake fluid change) on the 2003. The 2006 just got the brake fluid swapped out. Then it was a quick cruise just because!

did my thermostat, water pump and water pump tube a couple three weeks ago. 2012 hardtop S, 30k miles. not difficult but time consuming. thermostat was throwing a check engine light so it was defaulting to opening at 105C versus what the computer wanted it to do, but not leaking. didn't change the friction wheel or the serpentine belt because they both looked okay but I have them for 'next time' which is hopefully later than sooner.
