I ordered them from the shopminiusa.com and had the dealer install them. probably could have done it cheaper somewhere else but I just wanted it done and my hubs is not handy with car stuff.

Tore back into the doors

Installed the updated outside door handles. I wonder how many people know that the door handles were updated on the first gen as a rolling change. The pivot points are different.

Installed a new coded lock cylinder

Installed the anti rattle clips on the door regulator. I wonder how many know that these existed and were only installed if you complained enough under warranty. I'm surpised they do work

Installed a new peice of factory glass in the door to replace the non oem glass.

I cleaned the door cavities and waxoyled the **** out of the bottoms.

I'll have to place another order with ECS tonight for some misc crap

Performed a motor flush, oil change using BMW's new motor oil formula (Shell Helix Ultra w/Pure Plus GTL), Mini oil filter, cleaned and re-oiled my intakes, and cleaned my MAP and MAF sensors. Car runs like a beast.

Man, it's so weird seeing a MINI with window frames!

I hit a milestone today. 129000 on my 2006. The most miles I have ever got out of a car of my own! I love Barnaby and hope to get another 129k out of him no problem!!

I figured out that a 2014 Fusion antenna is about 4"-6" shorter than a R53's antenna. And it swaps out. The wife will never know.... The longer antenna actually looks better on the Fusion. It is slanted as opposed to straight up on the mini.

Brought L'il Red home from the body shop for some cosmetic surgery. I was rear-ended and while that was getting cleaned up, I had my original ('02) white stripes taken off of the hood as they were looking very tired, had the hood resprayed and replaced the front aero kit bumper cover as it was very rock-chipped and the air dam had been missing since AMVIV8! Replaced all the black grill inserts in front with fresh plastic. I have bought magnetic stripes in a checkered pattern to match my mirror covers. I want to wait until the paint cures a little and have a 3M plastic protection added to the hood and aero bumper.

I'll try for a photo op this weekend to add pictures. It may be an '02 R53 but it looks soooooo sweet.

I looked at the weather radar and said not today.

I got an email that ECS shipped my parts so it looks like I'll be busy for the three day weekend in two weeks

I wonder if there is a way I can have them never ship FedEx Ground?

Yesterday, we threw a party for a whole bunch of friends at our house.

This load contained:
- two large coolers
- 160 lbs of ice
- 4 12-packs of soda, plus an extra 6-pack
- chips
- burgers (beef and veggie both!)
- buns
- paper goods
...and more!

No problem, any more than the dozen folding chairs were.

Of course, now I have to take the folding chairs back to the people I borrowed them from...

Let's see... I replaced my worn out drivers door lock actuator. Interesting project - working where you can't really see. But, anyway, now that project is done and I'll move over to the passenger door next.

I need to do this, too - where did you get the new one?

Yesterday I rebuilt my key using a "replacement" one from Amazon - sent from China - would NOT recommend - required some modification (dremel) to the base of the metal key part to make it fit in the new housing, and more super glue than I think should be necessary to keep things together, but at least I have a lock button again! Even the stick on MINI logo doesn't quite fit right in the unlock button. That said, for $6 I wasn't expecting perfection.

Replaced all the rubber seals on the timing cover, new belt tensioner, idler pulley, and PRW crank pulley. Finished up with a new Gates serpentine belt.

I broke down due to overheating in Colorado Springs this weekend. I hope its something simple but the car is undrivable at this point I am not from the area so had to have it towed to a BMW dealer.

Got out the plast-dip this weekend and tested out painting the side piece. Opinions are always welcome. For now I am going to leave it, but will be checking into having vinyl put on for a more permanent solution. Also started taking plastic-dip off chrome pieces and sanding/painting black.
