What did you do to your mini today?

I got my rear windows tinted. 25%.
Made an appointment with Lyle over at Vinyl Styles to get some stripes added on Memorial Day weekend. He's actually booked up on weekends all the way up to Memorial Day weekend. I guess nobody wanted to get stripes installed on a 3 day weekend.

Had the oil changed in my beast. Removed the reusable JCW air filter and went back to a stock filter. In the process, forgot to reconnect the EGR tube. Was fun losing brake pressure in traffic. All is good now. Actually happy that the engine quieted down a bit. Turbo is a bit more noticeable now.....

well, technically it's not *my* mini, but i changed front brake pads and rotors on a friend's MINI today. it went slowly, because i haven't got my garage set up for repair work yet (just got the house in november), but my tool kit had everything i needed for the job.... i'm going to have to do mine relatively soon, so it was a nice practice run for my car, as well as the excuse i needed to finally go buy some jack stands....

Walk out to the garage, only to be greeted by a FLAT TIRE. Booooo !!!
Run Flats?
Brought it to Goodyear, guy says $39+tax to repair.
I say WTF... are you smoking?
He says OK OK, I'll do the balancing for free. Rip off artists.
Then got "ERICKA" NYS emissions and safety inspection done.
Sloppy place because in removing the old inspection sticker, he accidently ripped and cut the registration sticker, that I have to look at for the next year.
Can you imagine these guys really having to repair something on your MINI.
I'd sooner have the 8 year old across the street do it.
Also waiting for my BlueAnt S4 In-Car Bluetooth Speaker Kit to arrive hopefully today.
The 8 year old's 6 year old sister (she does NOT work for Goodyear) said she will help me if I need her.

*FINALLY* got around to installing my Marshall vac/boost gauge and oil pressure gauge (well, sorta--still need to install the sender).
Nudnik has been waiting for about 17 mos. for me to get around to this....
Oh, and while I had the intercooler out to get at the vac/boost line under the fuel rail, I cleaned it. Not that it was that dirty, thanks to my oil catch can, but it *was* out, so I cleaned it anyway....
