Need helping choosing a SoCal dealership to order a MCS

Hey guys,

I'm set to order my first mini (MCS DS loaded) this Wednesday. I've been dealing with Bob Smith Mini in Calabasas but am not too impressed with their people and the way I'm being dealt with.

Can you please recommend a dealership in the Greater Los Angeles area and maybe even a salesperson that you've have a great experience with. Universal City? Monrovia? South Bay? Long Beach?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

It won't matter where you buy it so go for the best deal -- you have several dealers within a 150 mile radius. Contact the "internet sales manager" at each of the dealers and tell them you intend to order/buy by a date certain and the dealer with the best discount (%) will get your business.

And don't get attached to a particular car or a particular sales person!

Edit: I just noticed you intend to order an MCS, which makes it easier since every dealer will be bidding on the same configuration and you can simply negotiate for the best price. You should call the "internet sales manager" first to introduce yourself. From then on, try to use email so all communications are documented. I think you can even send each dealer the specific configuration you're interested in via the Mini website.

Well, I don't think this matters now, but when I bought my MCS, every dealer in SoCal had a markup ranging from $3-5k, except for South Bay MINI. I wasn't willing to pay for the markup, so I had to go out of my way to SBMINI to buy my car. On top of that, SBMINI threw in free floor mats.

I bought both of mine from Amanda at South Bay. Great experience, discounts on both and lots of freebies both times. If you go, tell her SteelersFan (Doug) sent you. Good luck.

I just ordered my JCW Clubman from Amanda at South Bay MINI, she gave us a pretty good discount and locked us into 1.9% MINI Financial financing.

If you are a SCMM (SoCal MINI Maniacs) member, she is giving super duper savings to all members.

I've heard good things about South Bay, but I went to Crevier since its the closest to me. It was a great experience and the staff was very friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with. They weren't pushy at all, listened to my needs and gave me what I wanted.

I also went to Long Beach since its equal distance, but I was immediately turned off when the pushy salesman was trying to get me into a demo model I didn't want.

I live three miles from Bob Smith and I'll be ordering from Amanda at South Bay. I just hope Bob Smith's service department is a lot better than their sales department.
