Friend Nicked My Cream Line Trim!!!

I gave my oldest and dearest friend a ride in my brand new Sparkling Silver MCS with wood and cream line interior. I have just about 1000 miles on it after a month. I love my car. It is fabulous. And now it has a tiny hole/dent/tear in the cream trim line above the glove box. I am furious at my friend but trying to solve the problem rather than be emotional. But I don't know how to solve the problem. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I don't have any advice, but the title of your thread means something different in English. (Nicked means stolen in English.)

Sounds like a job for a refinisher person, possibly a furniture specialist or auto type although they are harder to find, good luck.

I somehow read that as "your friend stole your ice cream company's product line."

Or something to that effect.

Either do like BensMini suggested, or you might have to purchase a new trim piece from the dealer. Keep us posted.

My guess is if you take it into the dealer and point it out, they very well may replace it under warranty. I've heard of scuffed seat backs and other things being replaced the same way. Worth a shot! If not, then I'd probably just order a new piece.

Sorry to hear your car got messed up. Good luck on the repairs, and congratulations on picking the most awesome MINI color for your car!
Sparkling Silver is awesome!

See if the dealer repairs it under warranty. If not, replace the part - it's easy to install yourself. Good luck.

Is it one of these parts?

If it is piece 13, looks like it would cost around $120 + shipping to replace.

Another option would be to try a vinyl repair kit, but getting a professional to do it might be better.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, but why are you furious at your "oldest and dearest friend"?

Did your friend pull out a pocket knife and deliberately plunge it into your trim, or was it an accident?

Be a rebel. Replace it with a red one.

Yeah if your friend did not do it on purpose you cant really be to furious at him. My girlfriend has done a few things to my MINI but I didnt get mad because it was an accident.

... and if the "hole/dent/tear" really is "tiny" like you say, it just might be that you are the only one who would ever notice it. Granted, it is still an annoying imperfection that you don't want, but your car won't stay perfect forever (obviously), so maybe you could just let this go?

i wouldn't stress much about it just find a creative way to "hide" damages to your interior. I used a sticker to hide a nasty scratch on my painted dash and luckily it was in a spot that i could cover it up....

I've used this kit successfully in several places on my 79

if you are brave . . . practice on some scrap material a few times and work slow , , ,
