Orangecrush, that's brilliant! I love it. I would totally buy one if someone organized a group buy!

JCF46,

My wife and I attend The Crossing. I also serve as an Usher Team Lead on Saturday 7PM service. I've noticed a couple of Mini's in the parking lot before. Let's get together!

Just found this thread. Are you guys just an internet type of club or do you actually meet? I found this while looking for a club in Texas but I'm looking for something closer to the Dallas area.

Kritty, a couple of us do live in Texas. I'm in the DFW area, but there's also Metroplex Mini, which is the local Mini club. Check it out at metroplexmini.org and welcome!

Kritty,

We are at the moment just a thread and a facebook group. One of the things that I hope this club does, is encourage our members to be light and salt in their respective local clubs.

Hopefully as the club grows and God continues to work, we can have some meet ups when some of us do MTTS, MITM, etc.

Sorry for my absence from NAM. Its been a very demanding semester.

Hey Folks,

Wanted to pass along this news. The son of one of the members of the Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club was involved in a bad accident this morning (link below). He is currently in a coma with some serious injuries and the next couple days will be very touch and go. Please pray for this young man and the family.

Thanks.

Jeff,

Sorry to hear that... I hope he heals quickly.

If there's anything we can do, let us know.

What the @#$% is up with that news report. It gives the address of a man who may or may not have committed negligent manslaughter. Thats safe.

With that out of the way. I wish the best for Andrew.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get the idea that he may or may not have committed negligent manslaughter?

All the article said is he was attempting to turn left... I personally don't know the road but from reading that article, I still don't know.

He ran admitted to run a red light which may but hopefully will not cause permanent serious injury. I may be overstating what has happened here, but it doesn't seem like it would be a far fetched case if things took a turn for the worse.

Thanks I'll check that out. It would be fun to meet other Mini owners and ask some questions.

The latest word we've received is that Drew is still in a coma. However, his brain swelling appears to have stayed within a safe range, so the doctors have decided they can take him off of some machine they use to monitor the brain. I think he is still on a ventilator and is fighting some fluid in his lungs (from a cold he had just prior to the accident), but it will probably develop into pneumonia.

Susan has indicated the prayers and thoughts are much appreciated.

I'll be honest. I probably won't buy a bumper sticker because I tend to be an aggressive driver. Not in a bad way, but I probably irritate people a little bit when I zip around them. But I love the ideas y'all have had!

What do y'all think about organizing a group on facebook so that all of the Mini owners on the various forums would have a central location? Someone would be in charge of updating the individual threads on each site but facebook and NAM could be the dual central location of this group/forum/thread.

+1 on the bumper sticker No matter what you do you'd tick somebody off. You drive the speed limit, you get somebody hot; you drive too fast you get somebody upset, you take good care of your car and people will say your idolizing it, you dont take care of it and people will figure you're careless and unappreciative with what you've blessed with. I skip the stickers, except one. I have Actual Size stickers on my side windows, nobody knows what to say about that
