Just better handling in general. It won't understeer as much and maybe someone wants to drift.

I thought the main difference was in getting power to the ground since weight shifts to the rear under acceleration. I was under the impression that you could set up the suspension on a FWD or RWD to understeer, oversteer, or be neutral. There are just different driving techniques for drifting FWD cars.

the wieght will transfer better to the rear wheels which will help in better handling since you will be able to apply better downforce to the rear of the car. Parasitic loss is a down fall though. As long as they improve the FWD platform even more it really won't matter. Also if they made it in RWD it would probably be more expensive (look at the Solstice and Sky both are between 26k and 50k)

WHO SAT ON THE ROOF OF MY MINI??? LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO HIM??? LOL . Honestly its pretty in picture, but I also hate it with a screaming HAAATE! Sorry its not a Mini. Imma buy a porsche 911 take the emblems off and put the MINI car emblem on it and call it the new MINI...ugh lol! <--- this is what it is to me. sorry, but this is fancy looking eye candy trash (my opinion only), immitating a MINI. Lets rake in the cash on this "MINI"? Maybe the car designer feel asleep the night before his deadline on this car picture design, pulled a last min. idea by looking out the window at a passerby Miata. YUCK! Hell nobody better buy and bring "this" into my car club... i'll be the first to say sorry but this won't due, only MINI please, DENIED! Hmmm... i better request to change the club name from Mini club to Mini Cooper, MCS, Clubman, Classic, only!<--- j/k!

Why not a concept car with a refreshed interior and outside (next generation) look? How about a Hard Top convertible?
Agreed.

Pretty lousy execution, imho.

By the way, MINI looks like will price this sucker in the mid $30's....

Absurd

No MINI is worth $30K in my book. After that threshold, you have much better choices. Sorry fanbois, but it is just the way it is.

I agree with some of what you say, but let's face it, if Mini is to survive it needs a variety. Granted, this concept needs work on the roof, but all in all, well there's not much difference in the design between this and the R56 car. On other parts of this car, I love the interior, hat the color combination. Blue with a brown interior? Get real. That color combination on the interior is only when you can't make up your mind on an interior matchin with the exterior. Whatever.

I like the top on this one, much better than the Concept coupe, but I think that it's going to be the concept that makes it to production.

Got bored today and decided to do a photoshop comparison of the r56 and the broadspeed. Pretty interesting.
