"REV" wireless OBDII for iPhone
REV / Kiwi / R56S successful setup!
Got my Kiwi dongle yesterday, had already purchased REV2, installed the setup in seconds with my iPhone 3GS on my 08 MCS. Gave it a try and everything worked perfect at the first try! I am still figuring out all the features and editing the gauges views to my taste but so far I love this setup.
I have to admit I was nervous after reading some the guys bad experiences but I guess I'm lucky all went well.

Anyone found that the calibration is a bit...off.
I calibrated mine by moving the ball into the centre etc, but as I was doing it, I seemed to have to tilt my iPod forward, so it wasn't completely vertical.
I put the iPod into my dock in the car, which is angled to point towards the drivers seat, then hit the calibrate button on the mount screen, but still no difference - seems to think I'm always in a lateral G because of the position of the mount.

Reliably - No
I thought it was the 3g but the other day I had 3g off and it started disconnecting again. Still cool though, when it is working reliably.
I have to say mine has worked pretty reliably so far, experienced a few disconnects but overall I say it's connection is reliable 99% of the time.
I love it. The only feature I'd like is a maximum value recall. Right now the only I've found to look at max values (e.g. boost) is exporting the log in .csv file and then opening it with Microsoft Excel. Then you have to crawl into the numbers to find what you are looking for... Very doable but not the most user friendly method.

Hmm, I was thinking of switching from a ScanGaugeII for the better interface, and data logging. Never had any reliability problems with the ScanGaugeII. Hmm...
Great thread, lots of good info. I was wondering if this was worth getting, and from the looks of it, it is. Already purchased the software now for the OBDII wifi.
One question, is everyone using the PLX unit? Maybe some of the others listed work better? Perhaps OBDKey? That one offers connection with either Bluetooth, wifi or USB? Maybe a connection with Bluetooth would be better than the wifi?

Yup, I helped a friend with the iData Mobile app and all Apple allowed us to use for syncing with the Mac version of iData was WiFi. We would have loved to use USB, but they wont let developers use that because if their song and movie security. Bluetooth wasn't available either.
I have the PLX and it works great on my Mini, except the GPS doesn't work very well because of where I have the iPhone located, but my Nuvi also needs an external antenna to work, so this isn't a surprise.
Even though the PLX Wifi links to my iPhone when connected to my Mini, it won't link up when I plug the PLX into my M Roadster. Anyone know why this would be?

The replacement for my PLX came in yesterday... Unit looks slightly bigger with a little taped over hole (presumably for the expansion meters option).
Sadly, the PLX KIWI is still NOT without issues. Making a connection to my 3GS is impossible in default mode. I have to use static mode and punch in:
IP Addr: 192.168.0.11
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.0.10
Only then would Rev recognize the PLX. All functions work after that.
I had the same problem connecting to the PLX with my macbook wifi.

Don't you mean the PLX KIWI is still not without issues?
I'm not having any issues with the iPhone picking up the network, but REV won't make the connection to the M Roadster (I have other software that connects hard wire to my computer, so the port is good). Works find with the Mini. Anyone have any ideas? Wonder if DashCommander would would work any better.
You do seem to need to wait a minute or two after you make network changes for everything to get back in step. I tried different configurations, but it wouldn't even pick up the network until I waited a while after the change. Later, after the first connection with the new configuration, it would pick it up right away.

So, no problems with dropping the connection, as some have reported?
I have no idea why the M Roadster wont connect. You might want to contact Rev's support. Reviews claim they are helpful.

Just dropped them a note. Hope they have a fix.
I am sure many of you can relate to my toy urges.
I had it sent to work and it came. I took a break and set it up. It took 30 seconds. So cool.
Bad news..

I can't clear this code. Has anyone had issues with Rev not clearing codes? I have heard issues of this code being 'hard' coded.
Pretty cool to see everything in real-time.
I think my inability to clear this code has taken away a little of the enjoyment of the new toy.

I've had the 15% for about 4 months now, but it just went on after I filled up on Sat. (Did the whole gas cap thing. It's under the P2096 thread.) There is also the possibility, something like an o2 sensor really did give.
I'll plug in when I get home and take a screen of my settings, maybe something is a little different between ours.
I ended up returning my Kiwi. It would get flaky on it's connectivity with my Iphone. The more items I would display the less real time it display got. I'm sure it's great for logging data or viewing codes, but if you are looking to use it as a guage... meh. I'd get something else. my .02
