Viagra for 2nd Generation MCS???

I've read the thread regarding the resetting of the ECU for 1st Generation Minis, which is apparently giving them some renewed responsiveness.

Is there a way to achieve the same outcome with a 2nd Generation Mini that has the Push Button Start?

Thanks.

Try pulling the battery and draining all accessories. That's how I do it on my cars.

Does it work? Noticeable difference? Thanks for the response.

Thats the big question.........does it really do anything.

Pulling the battery cable does the same thing as the reset. Just let it sit for 10-15 min and you tell us if anything happened.

Drive it like you stole it for a couple of days and you'll be amazed at the difference in responsiveness. The ECU adapts to your driving style. If your car feels sluggish, most likely you have been using a less spirited driving style.

Thanks, Dr. So, the ECU isn't just some gimmick? You really can affect the cars responsiveness?

I agree. I had "just a cooper" as a loaner when I had my MCS in for service. When I got in it I noticed a big difference between mine and the non turbo. I continued to drive it like I do my MCS and over the course of the day there was a noticeable improvement. Not a MCS but much better. My SA gave me the same info as Dr. Pepper did.

The '07 MC loaner I once had was faster when I was done with it, but that was because I broke the tires in (rounded the sharp edges of all the tread blocks on the outboard side). They didn't squeal so much after this and gripped a lot better.

Wild! I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery. I've been driving like a bat ouf hell all day. Despite my total disregard for MPG during my 125 miles traveled during the day, my avg. MPG has increased by 2 according to the ECU! Wow, I wasn't expecting that!

i think your internal (human) ECU gets adjusted when you push on it as well

I notice after a hard day at work my ECU is low on spark and the harsh ride/noise get to me.. after a good nights sleep it's all fixed and im back on the gas dancing through the gears
