Have you seen what those do when you're moving? I put on one of the ones they handed out at MOTD. The 1st time I drove with the top down I saw how much it wagged and took it off.

When you get going at around 70mph, maybe slower, the stock antenna just lays back almost flat whether a ball is attached or not. Looks kinda cool going down the interstate.

Tristan has the ball that MINI USA sent us, its getting a little weatherd these days:

MINI USA sent us a yellow smiley face (without hat) for Shawn, we didn't like that so much, so we used one we'd picked up in Wales:

How well does the antenna ball work on the shorty antenna?

I've found on the shorty antennas (like the ones that come on all of the cars around here) you have to hollow out the ***** a little and stuff them on, but then they stick just fine. There may or may not have been a random rainbow ball stuck on a coworker's orange Rio5.

I love my Happy ***** - Lewis has one for every season and holiday. Oh crap - I didn't take off his St. Patty's Day ball this morning. Time for something springy-er.

Anyway - for example, fall:

To keep them from getting all faded, I spray them with 303 protectant and let them dry overnight before I put them on and they stay nice and happy.
