Sorry, no pics. But our Mini was vandalized by having it's passenger side rear view mirror ripped off. There wasn't any sign of the mirror. Just a dent left right in front of where it mounts to the door. We've bought a new one on Ebay. Disappointingly, I think I'll need to procure the harness that goes from the mirror through the door as there was never any wires or anything hanging out from the power mirror.

Oddly enough, that was the only damage to the car. It was disappointing and I was pissed, but that crap happens.

I have an odd dent on the hatch of my car. No idea how it happened, no paint damage. The body shop guy said it might have been a baseball, odd since I never park outside and at school I'm in a parking garage...

The person parallel parked behind me decided to do this on their way out...

Had washed and was wiping chrome grill with bonnet open, when the lower 'slat' just slid out, across the bumper, resulting in this:

Solution was to use the Langka Kit, with MINI Touchup paint.

(This completely smooths and blends touchup and is great for chips or scratches.)

So, it was a beautiful Saturday morning, my school is on Spring Break and that means no students for an entire week! I am in an absolutely wonderful mood. I am walking towards my beautiful shiny car, and as I get closer, I did a double take...Did I leave my windows open last night...no impossible, I am never that careless with my car. I slowly get near and realized that someone had decided to break-into my car by smashing in the passenger side window! They riffled through my Glove Box and ran off into the night with NOTHING! Of course this happens Friday night, so now I have an injured car until Monday morning, when I can get her into the dealership. I am still in shock over the entire incident, so I turn to NAM to vent with people who I know will understand the pain that I am going through.

I had a couple of shallow scratches mysteriously show up on the side of the car even though I park it in the farthest corner of any lot. Horizontal. I take them to be from the belt buckles or bags of the curious-about-MINIs crowd.

I had a tornado throw an iron decorative city trash can surround into my rear panel. It put a hole in the sheet metal and I just can't hang with that so I had it fixed.

Other than that both sides of my 04 were keyed from nose to tail on the same day. I have never gotten that fixed, it wasn't very deep and you can only see it if the car is dirty. haha

Someone that was drunk, I assume (I used to live next to a bar), hit my bumper with their vespa and dented the chrome cover. That was never fixed but I'm not worried about it. They seemed drunk to me, but maybe they were just wacky. *shrugs*

Currently I have my first "door ding" thanks to a plumbing van that parked next to me at the bank. I plan on getting that fixed because I hate seeing it.

That's it for things that I've noticed thus far.

I had someone key or scratch me at a grocery store parking lot but it got buffed out when I had my hood repaired. The hood got a dent & scratch from a rock salt boulder flying out of a truck.

Then in NYC a parallel parker scraped my passenger rear quarter, just the finish but it annoys me. Might try a buff on that too. And on a windy day my door got yanked from detent 1 to wide open and banged a light pole, I have a tiny dent, waiting for a good time to get dent wizard to fix it. I only notice it when the car is polished, and with the weather lately it stays clean for exactly half a day, so it might be a while.

It makes me wish I lived on dirt roads and had a rally setup, so the car was so dinged and dirty that I wouldn't ever care.

A ladder fell onto my MINI's bonnet while they were repairing the roof of my apartment block. It got blown over by the wind and fell from the first floor, luckily it was an aluminium ladder or else the damage would have been far worse. I was without my MINI for a whole week! Unfortunately I dont have any pics, my insurance company took some though.

NYC street parking is not for the faint of heart. Besides my bumper and hood dings, scratches, and scuffs, here's a bigger contusion someone left for me to find the next morning:

At least I save $500 a month in parking to help offset deductibles and other costs.

Poor cars! I've discovered a few dimples and bumps - not sure from where, but they don't make me happy. I have to find my accident pics, though. I was headed south on a highway, about to make my exit when a big gold truck (the F150 kind that was boosted) barreled down the close exit ramp and almost into me. Instinctively, I veered into the next left lane - which happened to be occupied by a car the same color as the road (and the sky that day), so I didn't see her. Chewed up my front driver quarter panel, couldn't open the door, and off-set my hood. My poor baby...

my first scratch. Along the black cover on my rear view mirrors. A couple more and I will look into new covers, maybe carbon fiber. Fingers crossed no more!

I went out to my Zuggy this afternoon for lunch . . . and to my amazement and disappointment, I saw a dimple in the top of my driver quarter panel. Right smack dab on top! Crap! I know it wasn't there this monring. I've only had Zuggy 6 weeks

I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Bought a brand new 2009 Mini S on 03/31. On 4/1 the wife went back to the dealer to pick up the rubber floor mats since the parts department was closed the day before. As the wife was parking the car at the dealership she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and drove up a flight of stairs. Luckily, she stopped just short of a BMW M3 parked on the upper level. I imagine it looked somewhat similar to the set of the Italian Job movie as it happened. Not too much damage and we should get the car back in a week or so. I must say, the 10 miles I drove it home sure was nice!

Why is it that the pure silvers seem to get the worst of the damage? *sigh*

Viola had a ding in the bonnet... someone smacked her with a piece of rebar when I parked her at a casino. Thank god for the clear bra and PDR. Took care of it, but the guy at the shop, when he saw my face, his first thought was that the car had to be in way worse shape than it was because it looked like I'd been crying.

I really was that upset. Thankfully, it was just a dimple, and if not for the clear bra, it could have been worse.

Someone threw a beer bottle at my rear window while I was parked at work.

Well, fist I got slightly brushed by an idiot who proceeded to slam into a pair of SUVs in front of me. Still caused time in the body shop.

Then I got "Lewis Hamiltoned" (see last year's Canadian GP) by a dolt in a company truck who didn't understand what RED LIGHT meant. More time in the body shop and a new hatch.

Not sure what hit me -- happened while I was parked on the street. Probably an suv with a spare tire. Happened 3 weeks after I bought it.

I have similar dents. Even those ugly bumper blockers won't help.

Well there is a few paint chips and the rims that came on the car were all chewed up from curb rash from the person who owned it before me. I have fixed the paint or the rims but it is coming down the way for me to fix it.

You think street parking is bad in NYC. Try driving in the apartments.

I feel for all of you. 2 years, nothing yet. Although I also drive a 99 CR-V which gets taken when I know parking will be problematic.

Yesterday we had a round of severe thunderstorms with tornados. At our house we had golf ball to baseball sized hail. Two hours later I was still finding pieces of hail the size of golf ***** in the yard. Fortunately the mini was in the garage. The CR-V didn't fair so well. It has several small dents and one dent which looks like it was hit with something softball sized. My wife's accord didn't fair so well either, she was driving home and getting blasted as she pulled in the garage.

Watching the local news, the car dealerships didn't fair well either. I saw one picture of a Mini at one dealer with its boot window, boot and bumper smashed by hail. Poor Mini.

Huge hail, my wife said it was like getting hit with baseballs.
