Military MINI owners?

I am new to this forum, I joined a few weeks ago. I am curious to see how many here are currently military members, or prior service.

I am in the AirForce, 5yrs, living in Germany.

Retired Navy (1980 - 2001); commissioned thru NROTC and spent lots of time in WestPac.

thulewx -- 12 YEARS in Thule!? That's some harsh duty...

2 years on Guam
The remainder, stateside in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Now, 7 years with State Farm as an Underwriter, Underwriting Manager, and a Claims Adjuster.

I also love kittens and long walks on the beach.

its a nice time of year to be in stuttgart. I am out at Ramstein, just as cold but not as cool.

Active Army MAJ -- Korea, Bragg, left Germany and SWA last year, and have done MANY MANY travels. At FT Lee, VA for a "break" now, before our next adventure (I'm part of a dual military couple.)

I went over there, already the owner of an MGB. Already had some built in friends among the Brits because of club connections. Life was fun there!

The women loved Americans. Not necessarily because they wanted to move to the States, but unlike the average male Brit at that time, the average Yank actually listened to them, and treated them better.

Last US Navy ship to make port of call In New Zealand. (Whatever it was they didn't want done, I didn't do it..)

Some of the best times of my life, a schoolboy's dream. Loved being at sea and deployments to anywhere.

Both ships have since been retired and scrapped.

I flew helicopters at Thule from Apr 71 to Apr 72 and was glad to leave. 12 years...Yikes!
