I am having second thoughts on the white roof vs the black roof. Right now I have a red/white with white mirror caps and white bonnet stripes. I am starting to think I should change it to black. Feedback is appreciated.

I would like to know, in your opinions, which is better (looks wise), which is more popular, and well, pictures would be great too!

 

Black/red seems a bit evil as white/red seems a bit more welcoming lol. I lean towards the dark color so I would have to get black/red, you can always blackout everything to match it even more. Its entirely up to you, google some red minis and maybe that will help you.

I do plan on tinting windows. I also live where it's hot and I have a dual sunroof... but I am hoping my window tinting plus this special stuff that reflect the sun will keep heat (most of it) out. I tried googling.... not much luck.

 

 

Man I do like your red/red... but I prefer two colors... more... spicy? Plus, I'd feel like I would be copying you LOL! And, I dunno, I like two colors, more attention.

At MTTS down here in Miami, I met someone who has a red r56 with an aerokit and the black jcw rims. I believe he had a black roof but I loved the red on black rims *drool*. There is also a red one with white roof/stripes near my job that I always spot, also looks very nice. You can also match white with red nicely. Here are some more

Here's Lucy, my CR/W. I've always loved this color combo because it looks so classic. I got my windows tinted last week, 20% and I love it. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow.

 

If you want Mysterious, Bad-@$$ Dude 'tude, then Chili Red/Black.

If you want Awesome, Stylin' Classic MINI colors, then Chili Red/White.

Either way, this is CROC --- it's all good.

Ok, real advice then. I'm all about black. Half my wardrobe is black, the other half is white and grey. I have a black iPOD, black furniture & black decor, I only use black ink in my fountain pens, and I have a black keyring...see a trend here?

Even so, Li'l Piper is CR/W because that's the color set that looks good on her. The black on CR was too subtle a contrast, it lacked the striking contrast that the CR/W has. I still had fun with the black interior (what I'll see whilst motoring), but to my eye there was no other choice for Piper.

So, my advice: try taking a look at the MINI and asking yourself "what color set most compliments the lines of the body? the heritage? gives it a sense of classic fit?"

Better yet, ask yourself "which colors will the [insert preferred gender here] dig?"

 

I'll ask myself which color the guys dig.

Anyways... I like both. I love the more fierce contrast with black. I like how much more... manly? it looks. I like the white, very stylish. I like both. I think the black is more manly though. I think the while looks really nice. I like both... hah.

What I should ask is what looks better on me... and I have no idea. I think red/black is better with the red interior sides... I dunno LOL!

I don't know what else to tell ya. Maybe someone else on NAM can tip the scales for ya.

A parting thought: white roofs are better suited to hot summers; interiors stay cooler. Don't know if this matters where you motor.

It's all a matter of personal taste. I prefer the white roof with bonnet stripes.

White is going to be cooler, black hotter, forget about popular, remember high school? Get what you like. MINI is about "youification" not coolification.

 

It depends on which red to me. If it's the Chili Red, the white goes better. If it's Nightfire Red, the black goes better.

 

Agreed. I went Nightfire Red with the Black roof.

 

And I went with the opposite. Haha.
