I was once told my MINI was a "tuna can" by a guy that drives a Hummer. I'd really like to have been able to see the look I gave him ...because he apologized.

Yeah, when you try to fit 15 clowns in a Mini, of COURSE you're gonna say it's too small.

Ahhh, just get one as a 'spare' - they don't take up that much room You'll always have everyone staring at you so you don't have to worry as much about the safety features. And, some even come with AC but we've found you can either have forward motion or AC - not both simultaneously!

Not to sound elitist, but if you don't understand why you should buy a Mini, the Mini is not meant for you. Let the uneducated buy their Toyotas and Fords, let them suffer from complete blandness, fall asleep at the wheel of life from boredom, accept a completely unpersonalized car straight off the dealer's lot. You can try to explain to them that there may be websites devoted to the sheer joy of driving a Hyundai, or the amount of personalization you can get in the Ford Escort. There may be but has anyone ever looked?!

We MINI drivers will continue to have Cheshire cat grins plastered on our faces, curse the cars in front of us "only" doing 40mph on the on and off ramps, and enjoy life in the MINIverse. We'll join our friends in the "Support Groups", we'll join the Mini orgs, we'll wave to other devotees as they drive past. We'll "suffer" excellent fuel mileage, one of the highest resale values of any car (not that we'd ever sell them -- except to upgrade!), and one of the lowest costs of ownership... Sniff... Sniff...

I just told my boss what car I'm buying, he shook his head and said big mistake, you should have gotten a Honda. I shook my head back at him with my big grin and said, the Honda I'm driving now isn't so great but I'm gonna love my Mini. He just stood there shaking his head at me. I don't think he liked me dissin on Honda's LOL!
The Honda Im driving now, my mom's, gave us lots of problems for a so called great car. Multiple AC probs, ect. and yeah, BORING!
If I had to get a boring car I would get a Toyota, it ran like a champ, much better then the Honda.
Yup, some people don't get it is right!

One of my friends said that isn't it a chick car, and took him for a ride in it. He doesn't call it a chick car anymore....

Good answer....
I sat in a 1 series, the way the car curves into the back seat causes the passengers to lean towards the center of the car.
True there is A LITTLE more legroom in a 1 series, who wants to ride like the leaning tower of Pisa?
Besides those people obviously dont own a 1 series OR a MINI do they?

I like what Tony Quiroga of Car and Driver said (July 08 issue page 52) "Unlike the competition, the Mini is a small car that is proud to be a small car".
