Am I being cheap?

Tomorrow, I'm going back to the dealership. When I bought my car, it had a roof rack on it. They removed the roof rack and never reinstalled the little black covers that you have to remove in order to install the roof rack. Not a big deal but I'd like to put them back.

As I posted in another post, I'd like to know where the rear floormats are, they only installed the fronts.

Also, I was suppose to get a full tank of gas. They got busy and forgot and I left with less than a 1/4 tank.

I mentioned it to my MA and she said they should have filled it, come on by.

It's been 3 weeks (I was on vacation for one of those) and I'm never near the dealership when I need gas..... so tomorrow, since I'm at a 1/4 tank, I'll stop by.

Do you think I'm being petty asking them to fill up my tank? The '06 I traded in had a full tank...

Whatcha think?

Mark

Nope. They promised you a tank of gas and you didn't get it. You are paying $$$ for the car and deserve what they promised.

The $ for the gas doesn't come out of the SA's salary, so I'm sure that they have no problem hooking you up with $40 of gas. Ask about the other stuff, too. It isn't being petty to ask for what you paid for...

Welcome to Motoring!

A promise is a promise, no matter when made. The dealer should fulfill it. And run your other questions by your MA and the service rep too.

I don't think you are being cheap at all. You have a right to good service and there is nothing wrong with asking for it.

For sure get the covers and ask for the rear mats too. I'd be sure to set up a time with your MA to get things straightened out and while there she can top off you tank.

No you're not. I wouldn't have taken deliver with a 1/4 tank. The caps for the roof rack would of annoyed me to no end.

I hereby relinquish my name to Orangecrush...

I'd do it. If your MA said they'd make it right, then go for it. I'd just make sure the MA is around. Might even make an appointment for the visit so they can be ready.

Not being cheap at all and by all means go back and get what was promised to you.

Regarding the rear floor mats I only got the front mats when I bought my '08 MCSa.Were rear mats suppose to be included too?

You definitely are not being cheap. They should give you what was promised and expected as a matter of principle.

Thanks guys (and gals). I just didn't want to sound petty after spending 30+K on a car and then asking for 60 bucks of gas.

Tomorrow, I'll set it right.....

Thanks,

Mark

I stopped in today and asked politely if they wouldn't mind fulfilling their end of the deal. I told them I wasn't trying to be petty but I'd like the rest of the stuff that was promised.

I think part of the problem is, Hendrick mini owns 10-11 other dealerships in town. Right next door is Hendrick acura and my bodyshops do all their work.

Point is, I was given a little preferential treatment because we've done so much work for them that when it comes to the normal stuff, I think I was kind of treated like family.... (kicked to the curb thing....lol.)

Anyway, they were slammed and asked if I would mind coming back Monday and they'd fix me up.

Works for me....

Thanks all.

Mark

Not petty at all!

The dealerships certainly expect us as buyers to fulfill our obligations when purchasing the MINI.
