I am so going to miss my MINI

Being a new MINI owner, I obvisouly am taking any excuse I can get to go for a drive.

So the boss calls and they are sending me to Vegas on Sunday for a week (in a rental car...Ugh) and then to Cheyenne Wyoming for the week after that....2 whole weeks and "Hops" has to sit in the carport...no motoring for me...Sigh.

I guess I will just have to lurk in the forums and live vicariously through you all

Mine will be sitting for a week soon when I head to Michigan. I can imagine it sad and lonely in the dark confines of the garage. Oh well, the cats will keep it company since they can sneak in. They love to nuzzle the tires and occasionally sit atop the cloth top, much to my resigned annoyance.

When you leave, go up to your MINI and say:
"We'll always have the roads."

And if it's a misty rainy evening and you're wearing a trenchcoat with a hat tilted rakishly to the right, that's an atmospheric plus as you walk away.

For all the world I'd love to be able to think, "Hey, it's just a car." Unfortunately, I know better. In the end, I am glad for it.

I had to go through the same thing earlier this year. All I can say is do NOT get a Charger for your rental car. Mine had comparable get-up to the mini but it's a BOAT. I dinged the mirror parking it at least once. Good thing I keep a Sharpie in my purse that happened to be the same color as the car. ^_^

So, you're not in the Army, and you're not going to Iraq for a year.

It can always be worse.

Me, I've apart from my girl for just a month or two, as she sailed to Baltimore. We'll be together soon, and log a few thousand miles all by ourselves, away from the prying eyes of my wife and kids.

When I deployed, I had a little travel photo album...it had pictures of my Mini and truck, and my pets. I figured the family had other photos on email!!!

Hey - try upgrading the rental to a Mini!!!

Forget it. I'm not very good at making sounds phonetically.

Vegas to Cheyenne. Talk about opposite ends of the culture spectrum!

Oh it most certainly is! From bright lights big city to something akin to the town in the movie Footlose.

Maybe it is a good thing I won't have Hops in Cheyenne, too many large trucks with gunracks kicking up rocks and stuff . Hops will be safer at home under the watchful eye of the killer Chihuahua

My brother lives in Cheyenne. Man, you couldn't pay me to live there. To each their own I guess.

Usually driving a rental and being away from your MINI will allow you to fully appreciate how good your MINI is when you return and go for a drive in it.

Like night and day the MINI is so much better than any rental.

It's always a very good feeling to drive a MINI when you return.

Big difference in my book.

I do about 55 business trips a year and drive a rental each time.

We have to leave our mini every weekend!

We are artists and make a living exhibiting at art shows every weekend so we have to load up the massive cargo trailer and Chevy Silverado and leave our mini all alone-but we always say goodbye and park her a little closer to the house.
BTW-We've been to Cheyenne several times on our cross-country tours and we think it's a nice place-to visit. Just remember to keep an open mind to what makes this country so unique-if all places were the same...what would be the point?

Oh I certainly have an Open Mind. It is a nice place to visit but I would not want to live there. Looking forward to Sanfords Pub and Grub again. This time I will have to scour the wall for some old MINI memrobilia. the whole place is coverd with automotive/cultral/musical history through out the last 50 years.

BM? Whats a BM in the Navy? No military service for me. But yes the Screen name is what you are thinking. It applies to many facets of life.

OH my GOSH! The rental Company gave me a huge SUV to drive. It is weird going from the MINI to a Monsterous Ford Expedition. I feel like I am in a very large cheap tank. AS big as it is, it does not feel anywhere as solid as the MINI.

Cant Wait to get home.....
