Tales Of The MINI

I'm 55 with about 35 years of driving and several hundred thousand miles behind me and something happened today for the first time. I ascribe it to the MINI and was wondering what other fun tales folks might like to share.

Mine occured on I-65 north of Birmingham, Alabama. I was on cruise control in the right lane bopping along at 65mph listening to some good music and enjoying the day. Cars were passing me one after another and I didn't really care. I was in the zone.

Then a sporty coupe with two young ladies pulled even with me instead of passing. I looked over and the passenger gal raised her shirt and flashed me! Then she covered up and they sped off never to be seen again.

I'm convinced that had I been in my old Grand Marq, there isn't a chance this would have happened. It had to be the MINI. Made my day. Even my wife smiled. I'm still smiling.

I'm sure it's a once-in-a-lifetime event for me, but sure glad to have the tale.

So what you're telling us is, you were the victim of a drive-by-boobing? Congrats!

Lol, must be close to the Talladega race, something about that event that makes women want to take their tops off.

I remember that stretch of road, used to live in Huntsville for a long time. Plenty of happennings on the road there to make a trip to Birmingham interesting.

I can't say it would be a unique experience for me, but I've had fun experiences in since I bought my MINI. Just recently, on the way to town, I notice a yellow MINI coming up fast behind me. It scooted right behind me, flashes its light and then zoomed around me. As it did, the lady driving it gives me a big smile and a thumbs up... of course I returned the compliment. Since my wife has the same color car, I told her now she has an evil twin stalking me.

I have to say this, from experience. MINI owners are way more friendly and approachable than vette owners. Not that vette owners are mean mind you, after all I used to be one.

Yeah! That's such a cogent observation, I don't think you're actually warped at all.

That's a great anecdote and gives new meaning to "open motoring."

Don't have anything flashy like that, though one day when I was motoring around town doing a few errands I spied three other chili red w/white roof MINIs, one of which, the S, had racing stripes on the bonnet like mine. We waved or gave the thumb's up.
