South Texas MINI Club

I am an "X" member of the South Texas MINI Club. Its Sole MINI Czar feels that if u don't fit his image of what a member should be he kicks you out or talks about you behind your back. This isn't the 1st time Jay and his clickish group have done this. I was surprised to see him act like a child. I am starting a new South Texas MINI Club that includes everyone and all opinions. I am trying to notify everyone who is a member of his club u are welcome to move over to this new site and feel free to be urself and to enjoy the company of those who love there MINIs. *BEWARE of The South Texas MINI Club*

Ok....random question here. I'm from Central Canada and will be in San Antonio in June. On the way home I'm heading west > Arizona / Utah. Is there a safe, logical place on the Texas / Mexican border to cross over for a day trip? Looking forward to our Southern Trip!

I just posted this to STMC's website ..

Jay / Ash,

Please remove my membership from STMC. I would like you to know that I enjoyed the runs that I have attended. However a few things have made me decide that this is not the place for me.

1. The Twisted Sister Run that was scheduled for 3/16. The whole situation surrounding this event was handled poorly, for the club leader, organizer of the run and stated Czar of the this club to decide at the last minute to blow off the run was inexcusable in my mind. To post at 10 PM the night before that you have decided to sleep in is poor leadership.

At least show up and cancel it from there (thanks Ash for keeping me company)

http://minimotoring.us/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1203448386

2. The Friday night Meetup on 4/11 that was canceled or moved or made private without any note on the message board.

I feel like deciding without notifying the general membership that we
were not having a friday night meetup then posting
that certain members need to call a # to move it to Ash's house was
also not something that makes people feel welcome.

http://minimotoring.us/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1207926302

3. The situation with Louis

This is the final thing for me that concerns me to no end. Every run I have attended, Louis has always been there. To tell Louis that a majority of members don't want him is silly. I don't remember getting
to voice an opinion.

Then to respond to his request for a refund on the magnetic badges by telling him to shove them up his ***. Seems pretty childish

Quote:
"Stick the badges up your narrow *** you sorry ingrate."

When giving an explanation for your actions you state

Quote:
"I made a mistake by not banning him from the website first. I should have forseen that he would react in a manner consistent with the attitude and level of maturity he demonstrates in person. The email that he sent to many members could have been avoided if I had handled the situation differently, and for this I apologize."

Making the comment that he is immature then telling him to shove his badges up his *** seems like there is enough immaturity to go around.

I can accept but not necessarily agree with louis's actions because he is not the "leader" of the club but for leadership to react in like kind to someone else's maturity is twice as bad

4 The last and final thing for me is the arrogance of the club leadership to tell me or anyone else that if we
don't like the actions to Quote:
"GO BUY A MIATA"
you are not the only people in S.A. that drive Mini's and I am sure I will be able to
find a home elsewhere. I don't have to give up the enjoyment of a fabulous car because I don't agree with someone's leadership style.

http://minimotoring.us/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1210723022
[/url]

I challenge you the leadership and "council of STMC" to leave this message intact and let the WHOLE of STMC's membership decide for themselves what kind of leader they wish to have.

As for me .. I have already decided and this is not the kind of organization that I would like my name associated with.

Quote:
Pebbles - " YES ! There are active STMC members who meet and decide things."

Thank you for your time.

Damn, I go away for a week and this crazy action goes down. Glad I'm not in SA yet to feel all that heat.

Also watch out for Ash and Lisa. They pretend to be your friend and lie and slander others behind there backs. I thought it was funny how they talked and kicked me out but Jay refers to it as a "MAJORITY" who decided to remove me when it was only Jay and Ash who made that choice and LIE about asking the members to make a ruling, but if you see the links posted by MINIS04 u can see how two faced and how if its not there way its the highway or how do they say "BUY A MIATA" and push off...

Louis,

At this point you have said your peace. I have posted my reasons for not wanting to be associated with STMC in the future. I encourage you to take the high road. Stay away from posting ill comments and let the members of STMC and other Mini Owners in San Antonio decide for themselves. It does nothing but hurt you and any future organization which would be formed to continue with this conversation in a harsh way. I am more than willing to assist in any way possible in organizing a club to provide SA residents a different choice. People are smart they don't have to be told what is what for them to see the light.....

I am actually in the process of acquiring a dedicated server for some other projects. I would be more than happy to allocate some space to hosting a forum and homepage. I will contact you tomorrow to discuss a domain name.

In the mean time, Lonestarminiclub has reopened online registration http://www.lonestarminiclub.com/foru...read.php?t=561 .

It’s no secret LSMC is not socially organized formally, as with most things “it is what you make of it”; if a member wants to coordinate an event, go for it, don’t expect an infallible omnipotent being to show the way. No officers elected or self appointed and no structured “Rules of Robert” at any gathering I've attended.

Any updates? This topic has been seemingly quiet the past few weeks.

I have not heard a peep out of anyone lately. There has not been any activity in postings on the STMC site either.

To differentiate, do you think you should tweak the name to, say, Southern Texas MINI Club or SoTex MINI Club or some such? This could head off confusion down the road.

Just a thought. And best of luck with your new digs.

I think they have come up with a name that is different from the rest of the clubs in South Central Texas but not sure of what the final results, if any, have been determined.

What the...

Teach me to get uninvolved and take care of the family instead of hanging out with a car club like I am supposed to...

You may or may not have met me from a few years ago. I was the funny looking bald guy with the long beard known as "The Prophet". I have a rather long-in-the-tooth Indi Blue/White 03 Cooper S.

Anyhow, whatever arguments about who is being a jerk to who don't concern me as I can't stand that kind of stuff. I've left far too many groups after that kind of cr*p happens and lost a lot of friends in the process. In case you're wondering, I was one of the original founders of the group but got quickly uninvolved due to family commitments. I have no vested interest in any of the personalities involved.

What does concern me is that we have a viable MINI car club in San Antonio/New Braunfels/San Marcos/Austin (or wherever you want to draw the lines).

Based on the dates of the conversation, I would assume that someone has finally gotten organized and formed a new group. I would love to join and hang out with any Mini owners and/or go on runs/rallyes, etc.

Please let me know via PM or just post here again.

I joined the LSMC a while back and have since been posting again. (had a baby so i've been a bit busy I'd be interested in meetups. I like hearing about modding ideas and such. Just had some stuff done this past Friday and getting a little sunroof decal Tuesday. Driving lamps are next on my list...

If any of you are a little east, the Aggieland Mini Club is open to everyone. Sorry to hear about the bad leadership. Keep in touch. Maybe the new club and the Aggieland Club can do a meet or a drive together!
