Almost anything by Daft Punk is good. I also like the irony of listening to the opening titles of the Italian Job remake...

Much to the irritation of my wife, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is usually playing. I’ve got an MP3 disc with at least 12 of his albums (with the Heartbreakers and solo also Traveling Wilburys) always in the player. There’s also “The Twist” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvvUKFCIVOg&feature=relatedin the root directory, Chubby’s theme song and Michael Bublé’s- “Everything" dedicated to my wife, for letting me get my dream car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPUJIbXN0WY

Hah! 1984, represent! RATT's cool, but I am more of a Quiet Riot fan...

I was actually referring to RATATAT

Listen to the song "Seventeen Years" and you will get the reference in my original post. I figured no one would get it (though I was kinda hoping someone would).

The best CD I've found while motoring:

Original Pirate Material- The Streets (UK Rap)

It just feels good to listen to music from the UK when driving a MINI, doesn't it?
My thing is top-down HK cranked.....but being a Boomer....its Van Morrison's best, The Band, Los Lonely Boys, Santana, Graceland, Rob Thomas, and I LOVE my Nora Jones....

"...Motoring
What's your price for flight
You've got him in your sight
And driving thru the night
Motoring
What's your price for flight
In finding mister right
You'll be alright tonight..."

Even better when you have the LP framed at home hanging on your bedroom wall.
And I found this just for you...

And just when I thought she was comin' to my door
She whispered sweet and brought me to the floor, she said
I'm only seventeen

Hmmm--judging by Hemiheaded18's lyrics--longer.

Not gonna say how much longer, but it's my birthday Wednesday. Lots of years longer.

Here's something different. If you are into mashups, or have no idea what mashups are, looks no further than The Kleptones. These guys can only be considered geniuses in the way they find two or more completely differing songs and meld them into something fantastic. All their stuff is free (for the reason that they cannot make any money on what they do). Prepare to be surprised once you give them a listen.

The Pixies always make me happy.

I've been listening to a lot of Radiohead and Arcade Fire lately, though.

The Mountain Goats!

Although I will have to second "Sister Christian", any song that actually says "motoring" has to be up there.
