Your favorite NON-DRIVING driving shoes
Get the adidas Good Year or Porsche Design driving shoes. They are great for driving and styling and not too expensive. Super comfy. My Good Years even have some carbon fiber inlays on the heel.

cool thread. I was considering buying a pair of shoes (just for driving my MINI). I've got real wide feet, and my shoes (and cowboy boots) can make trouble if I go a little spirited on the driving. So if I can find the thinnest pair of shoes that'll fit my wide foot, and will grip the pedals too, I'll be happy.
Another vote for Asics Onitsuka Tigers, Mexico 66 style

Thin-soled and super light, so great pedal feel. Not too bad as a regular pair of sneakers, either.
BTW MINI sells their own version of the Onitsuka Tiger with rolled heels for heel-toe craziness (they call em' Clubman shoes due to the hot chocolate color). They're also mad expensive.

Summer it's always a pair of Dunham hiking sandals, comfy safe and not too ugly... winter I like New Balance centennials, but they don't make em anymore. They were all brown leather, comfy and sharp enough for casual dress. They wear quickly so I'm looking for another pair. I really want some Ugg slipons but I got wide feet!
Pumas are OK...I have a pair of suede ones.
But my adidas rule!

Thin enough to feel the pedals, especially at the edges of the shoe for heel/toe work. Thick enough in the right places to be comfortable walking around. I've even used them to run on a treadmill at the gym while traveling as they're quite light and pack very flat/compactly for travel.

Where do you buy these? Online stores show them at $75 which seems mega expensive. I like them if they were cheaper.

. Zappos has a sale right now on certain colors for $70, but that's about the best price I've seen them around. They usually don't go on sale at all.I will say this much - I feel it is $75 well spent. The alternatives out there seem to be the Piloti and the Pumas, but they're all in the same price range.
the Adidas good years are ok, but im a huge fan pf the puma driving shoes. i wear them every day, and they are also great for playing soccer in
(not to mention when im not wearing sandals or dress shoes that nothing besides puma has touched my feet in 5 years
(including cleats
)
puma also makes all the team ferrari shoes.. but im not a fan of the red cause i couldnt wear em everyday.
currently these are my fav. for driving
