Your favorite NON-DRIVING driving shoes
I like the Nike Free Trainers. Supposed to simulate walking/running barefoot for runners. Wife somehow found it at Ross for 1/3 the Nike store price. I must say..it really is comfortable. Works well with driving.
These are mine (in Gaucho) and they grip the pedals just like a monkey---
For the price though, you'd think they'd toss in a banana!

I like skate shoes pretty well. I've got a pair of custom etnies right now that I wear all the time. If I want something with a little more feel and a little narrower, I've got some old New Balance shoes that are quite comfy.

Now I know who to blame when my husband files for divorce. Boy is that fun! I designed shoes that matched my car inside and out, and personalized them with her name!!! Now if I can only convince myself that spending 60 bucks plus shipping is a good thing . . .

I wear a pair of low top chucks a lot, they're a dusty pink with brown soles. Love 'em!
That's why separate checking accounts exist
These...

I do not understand how folks can drive in Crocs, or women driving in solid sole shoes or platform type shoes - I just *need* that pedal feel!
Here are my current favorites:

New Balance 790. Fits my relatively average size 10.5 feet, thin enough sole to feel the pedals, no unnecessary width to hang up between them. Not super supportive, more of a track shoe. Search on New Balance 790, there are tons of color combinations. Puma has some similar models too.
Chcks are looking good, tho, heading to the Configutaror...

+1.....million
As if I needed an excuse to buy more Chucks. I think I'm up to about 15 pairs. I've even got a pair to go with my suit. Admittedly it's a three piece brown corduroy suit I procured from the Salvation Army that's three sizes too big, but still...
Only $60? Just think of it as another option for the MINI. And how many options did MINI offer that were only $60? Just think how much they'd charge to upgrade your Chucks to leather.
Those were pretty sly, but man they're pricey! I haven't paid that much for a pair of shoes since sixth grade when I conned my mom into getting me a pair of Nike Air Force 180s (one of the ones you could pump up) even though I spent 190% of my free time sitting at the computer and never once played basketball in then (not even computer basketball). All you really'd need would be a vaguely artistic friend and some paint pens.

These. I actually just had my third pair bought, I'm having them shipped to Tokyo now since my current ones are worn. If you have any shoe size bigger than 10 or 11, you will never find them in Japan. Mine are size 12. They are phenominal walking shoes, and are very comfortable. The down side is that the tread is worn or the seams rip after about a year. Not bad though. By then they need to be replaced anyway, it's hard to keep white white. Though clorox wipes keep em nice longer.
These shoes work very well for driving once broken in. I can't drive with any other pair. Those who heel-toe will understand.
btw, how can you drive effectively bare foot? Then again, I could never revert to my pre heel-toe style.

if your feet can manage to fit in these, then i HIGHLY recommend the onitsuka tiger brand.
its narrow and crazy light. heel-toe is a cinch to do with these shoes. i believe they are more narrow than chucks.
i got the mexico 66 model. i like brown thats why hehe :D
