What a nice looking car !
How do you like your JCW kit ?
How different from the original 163hp world ?
My MCS has the same color and wheel, but not as cool as yours yet...
Happy motoring!

>>Quick question. I've noticed a couple of people mentioning dynamat extreme in their upgrades. Hate to sound like a novice, but what is dynamat extreme ??
It is a sound dampner (reduces noise in the car when placed in certain areas- in the doors or on the floor boards)

>>It is a sound dampner (reduces noise in the car when placed in certain areas- in the doors or on the floor boards)

Description: Originally designed for car stereo systems to eliminate speaker distortion and reduce road noise, Dynamat Xtreme is a butyl composite with aluminum constraining layer, sheet metal vibrational damper. Dynamat Xtreme is made to conform and fuse to sheet metal and other hard substrates: automotive body surfaces such as floor pans and doors. Product can be die cut to shape and placed onto the body surface after sheet metal cleaning operation and prior to paint system (typically at the sealer application operation) or on painted panels. Material is highly resistant to aging.
The acoustic loss factor 'n' is used as a measure of ability to damp structure-borne sound. It states how much the vibrational energy (in steel, for instance) is converted into heat rather than sound. For constructions containing several layers, the combined loss factor 'n comb' is used. The theoretical maximum loss factor is 1. An undamped steel panel 1mm thick has a loss factor of roughly 0.001 @ 200 Hz. Multiple layers can be used to improve sound damping still further.
Applications: Besides PC enclosures, Dynamat Xtreme is used as treatment for metal panels, partitions, ducts, doors, bins, panels etc. in railroad cars, buses, automobiles, and ships. It is also used for ventilation ducts, relay cabinets, steel furniture, sink units, computer equipment, machine tools and for many other purposes.

I'm a real addict "upgrade addicts out there- fess up and tell us if you belong to the $10K upgrade club yet. It's easier to reach than you think. Probably some have exceeded the $15K club." 10K Miles - oil and gas only!

HARMINI-
You are definitely right up there in the clouds for mods to a CVT. Maybe only Diamini and diamond racing can overtake you but those are racing MINIs so I think you are champion. Still $4300 isn't bad for what you have- in fact it is great. Watch out for the audio upgrade- it is a black hole where lots of $$$ can fall in. Great wheels by the way- I saw your carwash pictures. Did you get the computer/ wire harness problem fixed?

I have been nothing less than thrilled with my choice of wheels/tires. This is the result of lots of help and advice from my friends at MCO. The wiring harness proved to be the culprit for the stalling I had since taking delivery. The past couple thousand miles have been problem free.
This is a great thread, minihune!! I was afraid to add up my mods, but seeing how others have spent way more than me, I only feel like I'm in good company

I'm very glad that the wiring harness was the culprit. I know you have had some trouble but that is now all behind you. Your MC looks great and now drives great. I hate the stereotype of the often breaking down english car- lets
redefine small english car.
And you are in good company, If you lined up each of the cars that posted in this thread you would see many fine MINIs.
Maybe more upgraded than most buyers would care to do but these cars are each very unique and wonderful to drive and see.
I think we all tend to be not aware how much we spend and do to our MINIs over time but it can be considerable. For some, when we write it all down and see what we did over budget we slam on the brakes or slow a bit. For others we look at it and want to add more. My friend says "Go all out already and custom paint the car cameleon" I saw recently that cameleon paint costs $4600 per gallon so the paint job would be considerable. Sorry not on the budget yet- I'd rather get a DINAN kit.
Anyway good hearing from you.
I know that since I made my original post I have easily spent another $1000. My throttle body upgrade was about $500+ installed. Plus if I add a subwoofer that is another $600 and that is in the works- getting estimates now.
I might have to rename the thread the $15K club.

Well folks I think it might be time for some new members to the 10K club and those who were at that mark back in July when the last of the posts were made are likely to nearing the 15K mark or beyond so lets hear about it from all your mod happy people out there.
Got any MCs that hit $10K in mods?
Or as 20C4S claims- an MCS that is near $20K in mods.

Aloha flangi,
I was in the UK not long ago and used MCS were going in London for about 19,000 pounds or about $30,000.
So what options ordered raised the price for you? In Asia the price for a MCS is more like $50,000 US so you don't really have it so bad. There is always somewhere that is in worse shape not to mention poor selection and very low supply. Cheers.

Well it looks really good but I don't think you ordered "every upgrade".
Even if you ordered the harmon kardon upgrade there are many of us that have added custom audio and video upgrades that run easily $2000 to $10,000 alone
Did you mention the full MINI aerokit with painted side skirts and wheel wells (about $5000 option at my dealer)
what about the park distance system for the rear bumper?
V90s? I think you are referring to the R90 two piece wheels 17x7 size by BBS ($2600 option)?
If you are in the UK you can order the headrest mounted video DVD screens with wireless headphone by SONY-media one.
Just when you think you have seen it all there are many more options available-OH well
At least you have one special MINI. Great to hear from you.
Let us know how you enjoy your MINI once you get to drive it. Soon!
Thanks for the reply.....As mentioned I'm getting nearly every AVAILABLE dealer upgrade besides the sunroof and I forgot the Auto A/C and no skirting and yes no rear parking noise maker and no stripes........... Anything else yes that could be ordered when you make the mini up..
The rest of the add ons including upgrades from third parties have not been added yet there is a list that I'm working on....
The question I presume was has anyone spent over $10,000 after MSRP basic..Well with the grand total of around $36,000 I think that it fitted within the question....
Now if the question relates to anything else besides the options available from the Mini Dealer posted on MiniUsa than it's presently Zero.....
Am I aware of every single option that Mini has to offer...No except what is posted on Mini usa...
Any other add ons are on a wish list and will be done in order.. if anything at all.....Regarding stereo stuff for $10,000 and every conceivable upgrade possible ..well you could easily presume get to three figures ....
Every possible upgrade is taking the context of choices that MiniUsa has when you make up your vehicle which puts me in a bracket that again I can get a good used Porsche......Am I making a mistake on doing these upgrades ? Well time will tell but as the question related to $10000 club than the total bill is certainly above that amount......I am positive that there are many people who have much more invested than I have, and I hope a $10000 stereo system gives them the pleasure they are seeking....My comments are coming from the view that perhaps keeping it down to the basics would still have satisfied my soul.....The main idea is that you don't get much for $10000 now a days, and it's not too hard to reach that total.....
Any other upgrades from mini including different colored dip sticks, Harness for driving , and whatever else is offered would put me presently in the ZERO club which I'd like to be added too...
Appreciate the comments and would be more than happy to send pictures of the wrapped Mini.......Cheers..

I'm not sure what you're meaning by this question ?...
The question again related to a $10000 club..What is that to do with a UK MINI costing $30000.....Reading my statement it says I'm a Brit living OVERHERE !!...
So I really don't have it so bad !!...I was not complaining that I have it so bad !! ..just $36000 odd is a pretty sum for me to spend on a car...In Asia I presume they're making more $$ than the same as workers over here so perhaps $50000 is a cheap car over there..!!
No complaining on my part just a statement regarding the CLUB admission....But that's i'm not after any prize.....
And the reason why the UK s is a lot more expensive is that they try to deter people from buying gas guzzlers (even though it's not that bad on gas) ..That's why they have the MiniOne which is not available over here....
So each person earns a different amount and so each person can only distingush what the cost of any upgrades means monetary value to them..Yes i spent well over and what i'm making may not justify my needing more than the basics...Again no complaining iover here......REGARDS

hey flangi...that does sound like a nice driving machine. can you please post some pics, particularly of the clear bra install.
i don't plan on spending that much initially when i p/u my mcs. but i guestimate ~$32k. that would include the jcw+, sports package, moonroof. other additions/modifications eventually would be roof racks, tint, seat covers, wheels/tires, springs, brakes, clear bra, racing stripes and stereo. i think when all is done i will definitely be a member.

Toyo Proxes T1-S 525
K&N Typhoon Intake 139

Lets see:
Custom Roof Flag and installation $350.00
Lower black grill $ 35.00
Carbon Fiber Intake Trim $200.00
OZ Crono Evo Wheels, Bead Blasted, Powder Coated and Clear Coated $1,804.00
Yokohama Evo Tires $352.00
Balancing and Install $140.00
Window Tinting $180.00
JCW Upgrade $5,600.00
Total to Date $8,661.00
If anyone had told me before I purchased my Mini that I would be spending this amount I would have told them they were crazy!
The very last two items I will do is a cold air intake and heavier brakes which should put me over the 10m mark. Anymore money spent I this car I think is over the top at which point I will start looking at a different car in a higher catagory. But I love my Mini!
