I too have been hit in the head by june bugs...at least 3 times that I can remember while in the MINI. My brother and I hit a buzzard once in the jeep...it was just standing in the middle of the road eating something and wouldn't move, so he hit it. Didn't kill it, just stunned it for a few seconds. A friend of ours hit an entire flock of pigeons once in his jeep also. The pigeons were just standing in the trail, and having no way to go around, he went through them, only killed a few of them though.

My former boss had a bird come through her sunroof and crash into the backseat. It didn't survive.

I remember my husband telling me a story about leaving the beach area late one night. He and a friend were driving down Shore Drive leaving the Virginia Beach stripe area from a night of cruising. He had a Chevrolet S10 (I called it the Shit 10, that's another story) with a rear sliding window that was open. He had something fly in the drivers side window and flip flop all over the back of the truck. Scared the crap out of both of them. It was a bat. The entire back seat and window was covered in blood, but the little guy made it out the opened back window somehow.

I'm glad to hear that this has happened to others, this happened to me about 2 weeks ago on my way home....rolling down the highway with windows and sunroof open, tunes cranked up when WHAM....freaked me out soo bad I almost swerved into the other lane which freaked out everyone else....so after getting a grip on myself I started to look in the rearview to see what it was all over my face...it was the biggest grass hopper I've ever had the privilage of being attacked by....well half was on my face, the other bits were all over my shoulder, neck, b pillar and some on my back seat....man was that a juicy bug.....one of the girls I almost swerved into was still looking at me trying to figure out what my problem was, I guess she noticed the half bug on my face cuz she started cracking up laughing.....she even offered me a tissue.....I can tell you I'm not looking forward to my next attack

At the open lapping sessions, we have to drive with the windows down and I always have an indecent amount of bug juice to clean up on the B pilar after a weekend at the track.

Three times I have had birds crash into me while driving around. My MINI seems to have an affinity for robins Those don't seem to explode on contact with the windshield, but they do leave a cloud of feathers in the wake....
