Oh wow--hope you weren't badly hurt. Congratulations on your new one--be sure to post pictures as soon as you can! Have you taken delivery yet?

Can anyone give me an opinion on the bumper crack I posted about? I need to get in touch with the other person before it's too late, if I should have it replaced.

Well I haven't had experience with anything similar but my opinion would be to leave it alone. From the pictures it looks like it'll hardly be noticeable once you get the license plate bracket replaced. And as you said, dealing with the entire process and risks associated with getting a new bumper really doesn't seem worth it. To me at least...
Best of luck on your decision and getting everything resolved. If it'll truly bother you and you know that then I'd get it fixed. But if you can live with it without any regrets then I'd do exactly that.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking along those lines. I won't be getting the license bracket replaced, though--it's bowed but still usable.

I think I will talk to my body man* Monday for an opinion.

*No, its not a regular occurrence--have had door dings repaired on the other car, though!

Follow-up: Estimate from body man for bumper crack (and the punch mark from screw he noticed) was $382.43.

And today she paid in full, cash.

Happy New Year!

Krut's Krunch

Went to MoS to order my JCW kit, and show the R56's to my friend Mike the accountant (the one that helped us with the 501c7 status). Ran into DCMM Member Mark Materella who was shopping.

Mike and I leave MoS, merge onto Rt. 28 (that sweeping on-ramp) and notice a silver Ferrari driving like an *** behind me, passes me on the apex, cuts me off. I avoid hitting him, but in doing so, fishtail, almost regain control, but unfortunately can't save it and the result is a 180 degree into the guardrail. I hit angled - head on, good news is the 50 mph of speed had scrubbed off by the skid and the impact was not too bad, but I managed to mangle the hood, bumper, driver's side front fender, and driver's side rear quarter panel.

Pics below:

Damn that really blows. But look at it this way you know the guy driving the Ferrari was obviously compensating for something or else he would have had a MINI. Do you have to pay for this?

Damn, now that's really painful to see. It was actually your MINI that sold me on PW/B! Does it at least seem that the damages are strictly superficial? Best of luck in getting your beauty fixed.

Kurt:

That really sucks big time. I know how you must be feeling. Sorry about your MINI but really glad that you're okay.

There can't be that many silver Ferraris running around NOVA. Do the constables have any leads?

I think this thread jinxed me, cause i looked at all of these pictures one day, then 2 days later of course i had to crash my car into a rock. Theres no use in posting any pictures though cause it looks visually perfect from the outside, all the damage is under the car. 5K by a friggin rock! Well, what are you gonna do. Damn snow.
