I'm sorry to see all these crash pics. But, I was wondering, can the next person who has a wreck and takes pics, add some smoke from a fog machine or something to make it look more dramatic? If it happens to me, I will spruce it up a little with some theater fog or a some red or purple smoke from a couple smoke bombs placed in the wreckage, etc.

My 03 MCS totaled in January of 2006. Me versus a van that pulled out in front of me from a stop sign. He didn't see me. The impact spun me 180 degrees.

Dude that really sucks.

I was almost in a head on with a Lincon MKX today. Turns out that if your car is understeering while you are on the throttle and the lift off, your steering comes right back in full force [/sarcasm]. If i had lifted it would have been a head on, but because i did i almost drove into a bush. Almost needless to say i drove like an old lady for the rest of the day. So basically:

Teenager + MCS + ASC off + no "real" performance driving experiance = Bad.

As soon as i turn 18 i am going to try and get some time at a track or on an autocross circuit. I really want to learn what this car can do without having to worry about crashing into someone else.

Understandable, that's why I'm staying on the East Coast.

This is quite possibly one of the smartest things I've heard anyone admit here, ever.

Good on ya man!

And for a car that rolled and is about 25 feet off the roadway, doesn't appear to be much damage.

Just sayin' !

Part of my MTTS experience.

This pic was taken after we drove 6hrs to get home, in the rain, with no window in the car. Just for info, there is no way to tape plastic over the window on a cabrio without it leaking. After the accident, we were still able to drive the lap around the Indianapolis Speedway, then a bunch of people at MTTS signed the door, which we still have.

Other than part of the door pocket being pushed in, there was no intrusion into the passenger compartment. The other driver said he was going 35-40mph at impact.

The car has been fixed and is a good as new. Drives perfect and the convertible top still works perfectly.

This is quite possibly one of the smartest things I've heard anyone admit here, ever.
+1

No so nice at the time, but I'll bet it is a great trophy and wonderful momento hanging on your wall now. Such is the MINI spirit, make the best out of a situation.

Not to be a complete vulture , but have these accidents yielded any parts for sale? I was looking for projectors, even if they are busted. Im doing a projector transplant on my other car.

Thanks!!

At the time it was lousy, but we decided to not let it ruin the experience(but I sure thought about just getting in the car and going home). Looking back, I'm glad we tried to make the best of it.

The guy at the body shop sure did give me weird look when I told him I wanted the door.

I assure you, this is not shopped. That was how I got out of the car. These doors are really heavy, but those hinge stops were able to hold the door. Sorry for the bad photo quality, these were taken with a disposable camera and then put on a picture CD at walmart.

My car slid a bit on its roof before teetering onto its side. There wasnt much damage as you would think, but once the car was tipped back it was too dark to photograph anymore. There is still a big scratch on the sunroof and spoiler, and my antenna is still bent to this day. I can photograph those if you wish.

I believe you. But I bet you can see why one would think it's photoshopped... for the reasons I mentioned and those you just mentioned.

Glad it wasn't much worse for you than it was !

All's well that ends well....

Tillie is back to normal... $12,300 later. Most of the damage was in the rear, but the front bumper and grill and bonnet were replaced too. It's detailed in the thread called "Crunch..."
