Las Vegas infested by MINIs

We just got back from a jaunt out to Vegas, and lemme tell you, I've never seen so many Minis! They must give them away for free out there.

Viva Las Vegas!

As an aside, our rental car company gave us a Mercury Grand Marquis for the week. After driving an MCS for the last 3 months, this was like navigating a boat around the LV Strip. :impatient

So did you come out even, under or on top?
Been a few years since I been to Vegas. Always a good time.

Take a side trip to San Francisco the next time you're out this way.

But when we came back, the yellow MCS behind me was gone, supplanted by a Honda. However, behind THAT.... a chili red had joined us.

With any luck we will be cruising thru Vegas in our MINI in mid September. That is if the body shop finishes in time.
The insurance company provided us with a rental car, an Impala. OMG it was like driving an ocean liner. We traded down for a Jetta. Still feels soft with a lot of body rolls and enough torque to *yawn*...whatever.
Hope you took some of their money home.

I'd heard that about Vegas! 'tis true, eh?

And omg! I hadn't seen your pics before, rkw - that's crazy! I think there might be another ONE in the town that I live in....of course, it is a population 27,000. heh.

lol, those are great pics of the "Mini parking lot." It's called 'clustering,' I think.

And we came out under from this Vegas trip, but not too bad. An acceptable loss. Having a great time matters more...

Think you saw a lot of MINIs in Vegas this trip? You should head out there around the end of March!

I guess that's time for "Mini's on the Strip" or something of that nature?

And March is too expen$ive to go to Vegas! Conventions, March Madness, etc, they get silly with the hotel prices. We should get all the Minis out there in December when it's nice and cheap, I'll get a room with a view and watch them all parade down the street.

Silly hotel prices are a matter of relativity. Compare the AMVIV group rate to, say, rack rate in NYC, and it's not bad. Thursday night, we signed the contact with Palace Station for AMVIV5 in March. $129 per night for the Tower Rooms, $89 per night for the "Courtyard" rooms. If you don't want to spend that much, there are a couple of other hotels in Vegas, you can probably find a cheaper room.

We had a club run to Mount Charleston yesterday for a "Boot Buffet". We had about 25 cars attend. I still will often go a week without seeing any MINIs other than mine here in Vegas thougvh.

Yeah, they don't give them away in SF - they grow out of the curbs.

We were in Vegas two weeks ago....

The only Mini I saw was being transported on a big truck heading out of Vegas on the 15 back to LA. We did not see ONE Mini. Very disappointing.

I was sad that I didn't get to wave at any of the many Minis that we saw in Vegas, but driving a big Mercury around would only garner some suspicious glances had I tried waving down every one...

Did you happen to see a pink Mini, license plate DOGON? It is owned by Penn Jilette.

Maybe it was us...

If you saw a caravan of 4 MINIs traveling through Vegas on Sunday afternoon/night, and again on Monday morning, those were the San Diego MINIs that went to MITM. We decided to stop in Vegas on the way back and make our "deposit" so that Vegas could keep the A/C and lights on in preparation for AMVIV.

We lost....we lost big....happy to make our "donation" to the Vegas strip.

Actually, he has three, but I don't know what the other two plates are.

Agro, is it just me or did the room rates go up this year?

Never again will I stay in a courtyard room.
