Ok, this is going nowhere so I'll put my cards on the table.

I contend that OttomannS is C4/Frankinmiami returning one more time with a new account. I've already accused him of as much at MotoringFile and he denied it. http://motoringfile.com/2007/05/15/a...comment-120232

I haven't driven an Exige, but I agree with you wholeheartedly on the other two. I probably wouldn't buy an Exige--from what I understand, you can't see out the back very well--for me, it would strictly be for the track--and an Exige realistically is a car I probably wouldn't be able to catch up to from a driving ability standpoint. I just can't see ever getting rid of my Mini, so an Elise would still be attractive--I'd be more comfortable driving that more than just at the track than an Exige.

Cayman S is kind of the best of both worlds--good for around town, but still great at the track (although like the Exige, its probably more car than I need). I have to admit though (and I hope this doesn't start another round of flames about these perceptions) the Elise is visceral to me in the way the MINI is; the Cayman S is more refined and tons more luxurious--but the Elise is like driving a race car.

If I had to get rid of my MINI, then it'd be a no brainer--I'd get a Cayman S. But I'm really hoping to hang on to it forever and add another car. When the time comes, practicality will probably override desire--I just can't see being 2 and a half hours away from the dealer--the Elise isn't an easy DIY type of car--and I'll probably get the Cayman S.

On a side note, maybe the stock Cayman will get tweaked down the line. I just don't like that five speed box its got now, but maybe it'll improve down the line too.

Greg, you are one confused poster. You have big ***** to launch baseless accusations on a public forum. What is your problem with me anyway? This is the last time I am going to say this to you, before I take it up with the site admins...I AM NOT C4 OR WHATEVER THIS CHARACTER IS/WAS...GET IT? COMPRENDE? Do you have solid proof in the form of IP addresses? Can you trace my posts back to the C4's internet ISP address? You'll be very wise to bring this nonsense to an end.

Most likely correct. Once Walter Roehl put up RIng time quicker than the 997 ... rumour was no more testing. Too much of an embarrasement.

BTW, ppl are now putting in Quaifes and track times dropping quite a bit.

There is at least one person who posts regulary who goes through cars like many ppl go through six packs of beer. His latest toy is a GT3RS but I think he's gone through several CS, Elise, Exige, whatever

Exige (S) has been reported as a track toy, meant as a toy for grownups ... whereas the CS you can drive to the track, run all day, and then take the wife out to dinner comfortably Then again, for some ppl a GT2 is a toy ... its all a matter of perspective or when you hit lotto!

However, do not think this comes cheaply. Going through consumables, apparantly, is NOT cheap. It ain't MINI prices for brakes, tires, etc.

Huh. I thought people who posted things to online forums tended to have genitalia of below-average size.

That sounds suspiciously like something C4/Coopers4Us might have said.....

Please immediately report yourself to the NAM moderation team for interrogation and potential punishment.

Probably, but this is besides the point.......

Hmmmmm....this also sounds like something that C4 would have said.

You know the drill Trinity (if that is your real name), report yourself to the nearest moderator for questioning. None of us will rest until that foul Coopers4Us is brought to justice.

Caught you in my intricate trap my sly friend! Only the REAL Coopers4Us would have even thought about subjecting R56 owners for questioning. Your biases have ultimately betrayed your true identity.

Please contact Clo and hand in your NAM badge, underwear and propeller beanie. You have been outed.

If you only knew.

C4 was many things - a poet, an advocate of farm animal abuse, a proud Tanzanian national, the real reason we went to war in Iraq, and the inventor of the cheese rifle - but first and foremost he was my friend.

.......and a special friend at that. You may feel a little scared and confused that someone is accusing you of being C4/Coopers4Us/FrankinMiami. I however, would look on it as a badge of honor, for I would be more than happy if someone mistook him for me, or me for him, or my wife for his sister's mother.

Peace.

Skip

No, I'm pretty sure Lava is also C4. Think about it: be your own devil's advocate with an alias, then make your alter ego go off the deep end get banned, to further your original cause...

On second thought, this idea is so convoluted it sounds like something C4 would have conjured up. Maybe I'm C4, and I don't even know it...

A plan so cunning in its simplistic intiricacy that only the real C4 could have thought it up!

love and let love...

--Wow this thread has turned into an interesting flame fest. I feel about all Mini's and MINIs the same way one of my island brothers feels about the opposite sex. He'd always say..

"I love them in all shapes, sizes, and colors Cuz. I don't discriminate. I have aloha for everyone!" *Insert Kauai boy shaka sign flex*

Wouldn't it be great if everyone had that much love in their hearts? I mean when he rides in my MINI and we punch it down the street he laughs like a little kid and always says, "Man I love this car!" I don't think he'd care if it was a 50, 53 or 56. The spirit of MINI has always been "FUN".

Let's get back to that spirit and stop setting up camps and cliques to divide up the MINI groups. Like the song says...

"A-L-O-H-A, a little aloha in our day —"

Let me put an end to this affront to God. I am C4. And all you non-believers and idol worshipers of the R56 will perish in hell.

Those of you worshiping the the R50/53 can relax: they were created by God's own hand.
