Do I just post and get to join the club =P

I've Auto-Xed before, taken Skip Barber driving school, and look forward to tracking my Mini for the first time early next year.

WoW!.lots of new signups since I last visited the site. Welcome to autoxcooper, hypnohealer, speedwing, carjoy, carve906, adam76, bluecooper, unixgal, chilipeppa03, yellowtruck61, and woahfactor3.
Just ran the last event for the year last Sunday. Seems like Jan 3rd (next scheduled event) will never get here. Haven't claimed any S scalps yet but I'm getting closer. Just wish I wasn't such a slooow learner.
MOTOR ON!

Attending an all day performance driving school tomorrow. One on one instruction, two different courses, and lunch. Should be great! I can't wait.

You warm weather folks annoy me.

Out last autocross was a couple of months ago. And, except for ice-racing, we don't have anything scheduled for another 4 months at least. And last year, events in the first few weeks of the season were cancelled because of snow on the tracks.

I'm sorry. I'll think of you tomorrow, you poor thing! You can think of me when it is August and 115 degrees at 6:00 a.m. and we are standing out there on asphalt!

Talk about withdrawal symptoms, 4 or 5 months without running. .Ouch. We have to put up with the 100+ temperatures but at least we get to run year around. Most race days the biggest decision to be made is whether to wear a short sleeve t-shirt or a long sleeved one

Thanks for the well-wishes.

The brown MINI is actually back in the shop right now for some minor fixes before hitting the track (New Hampshire Motor Speedway) this weekend. I'm anxious to get it back out on a "bigger" track again.

What happened to you is what keeps me from doing my best. Precious is my daily driver and could not go without her for any length of time. Perhaps one day as SIDARTHUR (Jerry) put it, I can write off a race car and do it 100% until then I will enjoy autoxing and the occasional track day and beating everyone in my class and a few higher classes as well.

Another couple of days on the track... another handful of cars passed.

I haven't edited together the "passing" footage, but here's a lap of NHMS:

http://flickr.com/photos/snid/265372...7606047253568/

I'll edit together some more footage soon. I didn't tape everything. I didn't tape when I had an instructor in the car. And I ran out of tape in a couple of sessions. I do have an hour of footage of the fence my car was parked in front of, though.

I got my first point-by from an R56 MCS (and a few other cars, too)
