Bad Rota Slipstreams ??

Has anybody run into a problem with the 16x6.5 Slipstreams not fitting onto their hubs? I got a set of 4, two fit and two don't. A bad run perhaps?

So you got hub centric wheels and they don't fit on the hub center?

Yes too small. .003-.005 by my best estimate. The wheel sits away about 1/4"

True, hopefully the Rota distributor will work with on you paying for the needed modifications or send you new wheels. Were they custom ordered or pulled from availible stock?

I see that Rota lists them as being 56.1mm. Our hub is technically 56.15mm I think isn't it? I think this might be where the issue might be since they may have been mis-informed. I just emailed them on my 15x7.5 special order group buy to let them know about this issue.

I posted this over on Sccaforums, but I'll repost here.

I've got 8, four white that are fine, 2 gun/royals that are fine, 2 gun/royals that are tight..but maybe that's actually 4 guns/royals that are just tight on the rear hub...slip on fine on the front. I never checked the two "good" gun/royals on the rear.

anyway, a few zips on and off w/ the impact and they're fine. Maybe powdercoating on the inside?

They are more than just a bit tight, I've seen a few of those, these are to the point that I wouldn't want to use the lugs to put (pull) them on.

A letter to 18racing:

Jessica,
I was able to resolve the problem. I used some 120 grit sandpaper and removed the paint from inside the hub. With the paint removed the rims slipped on perfectly. There must have been extra paint material on the two rims. I would not increase the hub size dimensions that you are currently using for production. My rear hub size measured 2.208 inches.
Thanks for your help,
James
