Any good roads in AZ

I recently moved from NJ to Tempe, Az with my Mini.... the x-country trip was awesome. But now that I'm here this grid of roads in Tempe/Phoenix is killing me. Where are there and good decenlt roads with lots of bends? I know there's no "dragon" out here but I must be able to do better then straight all the time. hehe Thanks

The Beeline up to Payson is pretty good, but not close. Papago parkway (?) in Tempe/Snottsdale has a couple of good twists, but watch the fuzz.

Head West and up into Prescott; there are some good (heavily policed) roads up that-a-way, too.

The road up to Tortilla Flat from Apache Junction is probably the best twisty mountain road that's close, but you'll have to find off-times to run it, as it gets clogged with boats, motorcycles, sightseers, etc.

There isn't much in the valley; get chummy with a motorcyclist (a motorcyclist, not a Hardley rider) and ask around.

I would often ride my motorcycle up to Payson and up to the Mogollon rim; it's beautiful up there, and the main road is pretty good. You're pretty much stuck with either 4-lane roads or dirt cow trails; there's not much in between in AZ.

"Dragon?" Big deal. We've got Highway 191, between Safford and Alpine. Arguably better. Used to be Highway 666. Really, it did. Also check out the back way to Prescott, Bartlett Lake and Canyon Lake.

191, 89a, 260, 87, 93, 74, 97, 17, not to mention Pima RD to Bartlett lake (up by Desert Mountain) if you want to stay close....plus a slew more.

we have more roads to do fun runs here than you have combinations of options in your mini!

AZ is a southwestern state. I'm sure you'll find the aforementioned roads, and others, to be more like "rattlers" and "Gila Monsters" than mythical creatures.

Welcome to AZ!

Dragon? Look on a map for 191 on the east side of AZ.
