The Rocky Mountain BMWCCA is holding a 6 event autocross series this year. The top 4 event results count toward a season championship.

Saturday was the second race of the series

The stock Cooper S races in "CS" (it's a BMWCCA class, not an SCCA class). Tad Haas is doing very well.

Here are the times from the event on June 28th:

Standings to date in CS

The modified Cooper S races in "BS" (again a BMWCCA class, not an SCCA class). Randy Webb of MINI Motorsport fame is doing very well.

Here are the times from the event on June 28th:

Randy in 1st
DiD in 4th

Standings to date in BS

Dave,
Thanks for getting this up for us. It looks like it takes the BMWCCA awhile to get the results posted, it's great you can do this!
Do you know how far I can mod my car and stay in CS? Has Tad done anything to his?

Tad has done wheels and tires.

You can do ALL of the following and stay in CS:
- Intake
- Exhaust
- Rear Sway
- Springs

Another fun filled day. I really enjoy this but my poor little 175 Conti's sure do like to howl. We need a few more MC to come out and help out 'DS' class.

I think I squealed off about 1k miles worth of tread just on the 180 at the far end of the course.

Dave,
I never got around to changing my name when I got the Blu/Blk, I think I did change it for the Yahoo! group. I will contact Mark and see if he can help me change my name.
Talk to you later.

It's always fun going to these events.

Dave made a good point in that this is not an SCCA event - it is a series sponsored by BimmerHaus which is actually a local shop with national autocross fame. That makes these events very high class - the trophies, the provided lunches, the timing and scoring equipment, and the year end banquet. The other great thing about this series is the seat time! We get three or four runs in the morning and another three or four in the afternoon. At a typical SCCA event, you get three runs, period.

For those of you in the Denver area, there is no better way to get your foot in the door of motorsports. You learn a lot about your car, everyone is very friencdly and helpful (you can ride along during the morning runs with any of the numerous instructors), there is almost no risk to the car or your safety, and MINI5280 has a tent to keep you from getting sunburned!

Even if you aren't competing, you should come check it out - there are usually four or five MINI folks out there just to watch, and you don't have to be competing to take a ride along. That lets you get a feel for what autocrossing is all about.

I would like to see someone wiht good tires (hint) in DS so we can take not one, not two, but three class wins! I'd even be happy to co-drive to get it done!!

Randy
