We currently have orders for 23 patches. Remember that 100 is the minimum order so that would be $11.70 per patch with a bunch left over.

I ain't skeered

Copycats! Well, it makes it a little more crowded, but it won't affect us. They're usually pretty nice. I know many MINI owners who came from Miatas. We're nice and can share. Perhaps we could do something together, I dunno. Thoughts?

Agreed. If they don't mind looking at a bunch of MINI tailights!

1991 Miata Special Edition BRG

Mazda made a limited number of Miata Special Edition BRGs in 1991...didn't use that color again until ten years later...
Don't insult my little BRG turbo.. It only runs like Godzilla!!

oh no insult intended, just doesnt make sense for a ricer to be BRG, (obtw i had a 79RX7 with a turbo'd 13B motor for years, and it ran like a beast! )

Need to make a decision on the patches in a few days. So far we have 13 people who have indicated they want 23 patches total. So at this point, if all 13 people kick in $20 each we can place the order and everyone will get seven patches each (with a few left over). I'm willing to do that but we need everyone to agree to place the order. I will call the question on the 19th (in two more days).

Ricer

LCS,
Maybe I'll let my wife bring the MCS, and I'll bring my "ricer" to show you how to run the Dragon Tail..

MINI Bee,
I'm in for the $20 bucks.

I'm in for whatever you want, $20 is fine and I'll donate my extras to the club for door prizes at quarterly meetings or something.

I remember those BRG Miata's--I kind of thought it was a tribute to their "heritage". BTW as a previous owner of a '73 MGB, Mazda knew what they were doing and did it right, why I don't own a Miata is a mystery, even to me! ;-)

Actually, they were too small for me with roof up and a hat on, (I'm follically challenged and wear a lot of hats). Maybe I should sit in one now and see if there' any more room? Wait, no, I'm not getting a Miata!

P.S. Bring it!

Miata

My Miata is a bit small for me. I'm 6'3", 245, and my brain pushed all my hair out too. The trick to keeping your cap from flying away is to attach alligator clips to each end of a small 5"-6" strap....clip one end to the back of your cap, and the other end to your shirt collar..if your cap blows off, it won't go far.
I haven't driven my Miata since I bought my MCS over a month ago. I had great fun driving it over the years....drove the Dragon every chance I had....But, now I'm in love with my MCS...Miata has only 40m miles, but it needs a new home. I'm moving on!!!

Cheers,
gaminis

OK, cool. With my $20 that's $100 so we're almost half way there. One thought...I could get them without a year on them and then we would have extras for next year. Kind of ruins the "inaugural" value of the patches for the first year, so let me know what you want to do.

I had thought about that originally - maybe no year... that makes the extras more useful in the future, too...

But I'll ante in $20 if necessary either way.

Dragon Patches

I'd prefer the year, but I"m for doing what you decide. Count me in for $40 if you need to. I appreciate your efforts.
gaminis

P.S. Has anybody talked about wearing name tags, with our real names + our NAM names? I'll be happy to supply them.

Here we go with the rivalry that makes no sense.

I know tons of people who have owned both a Miata and a MINI at some point, even at the same time. They are both great cars.

I've had two MINIs and now I own a turbo Miata. And don't even start on which is faster.... cause I know the answer.

I think name tags are a great idea. Cause I know I will never be able to remember everyone username let alone your real name!
