Perhaps I could do that for you as part of (or pre/post) mod session, I'll bring the necessary tools.

Midnight Dave : I would like to split the cabin with you, if Rich makes it, I'll take the couch call me if you need

Jason: I'm in $20 for patches if you still need it

We need one more $20 to place the order. There will be 100 patches and we will divide them evenly between all who paid. Or we can each take what we need and sell the rest to raise money for the charity. Whatever works best for the group. I would like to reserve one patch for COOPERation since it's his design.

Actually, it's MINI_Bee@earthlink.net with and UNDERSCORE between MINI and Bee. I think the underline hides with underscore when it displays in the post.

Newbee but looking forward to it

I missed the May runs because of work conflicts. I surfed out to see what fall activities might be on the Dragon and most unexpectedly delighted to see this planned. Please let me know if I need to do something else to register, etc.

NoMetro +1 Hooray!!

Thanks Jason,
For those of you who are not familiar with us, we are dealers for TSW, M7, Helix, Revolution MINIWorks, ALTA, and have suppliers for just about everything else. I am happy to bring what I can up there with me, but need time to get orders in (I do not keep much inventory here). If you are not sure what you want, just give me a call, I can help.

I'll see you all at the Dragon,
--Dan

I was kinda thinkin', but not to add any more complexity to the whole situation, maybe someone bring buns, another plates, another utensils, etc.

The reason I say that is: if we are to bring what we are going to eat, we would bring two hb buns. So, what do we do with the rest of the pack?
Ya know?

has anyone gotten a rough count for people that are going to do the cookout? Maybe start a new thread for supplies to that?

The cookout is a great idea. but for us coming down from Canada, is there a grocery store around there where we can buy some stuff for this?

I will agree the cookout needs a good logistical plan, and I will work on it. Any thoughts?

THIS IS JUST A REMINDER. ALL THE ROOMS WE HAVE HAD RESERVED AT FONTANA HAVE BEEN SAVED UNTIL OCT. 1ST. MEANING THAT COME OCT. 1ST, ANYONE IN THE PUBLIC CAN GET THOSE RESERVED ROOMS. AND I KNOW THE MIATA CLUB PROBABLY WANTS SOME OF THOSE ROOMS, SO IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT A ROOM RESERVED, LET'S HURRY IT UP!
IT'LL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!

Groceries

I know that there's a grocery store in Robbinsville (20 mi. from Fontana). Don't know if anything is closer. What about making a run over there after a head count for the cookout??

FONTANA VILLAGE RESORT

Here's the confirmation letter that I received from Fontana Village:

Thank you for choosing FONTANA VILLAGE RESORT as your vacation destination. Because of the remote location of our facility and because making your vacation experience both memorable and enjoyable is our #1 priority, please note the following information.

Fontana Village is located in the very Western tip of North Carolina. We are twenty-two miles from the town of Robbinsville, which has the nearest full service grocery store. The Village has a General Store that can provide you with basic necessities. We do not furnish grills for the cabins; however there are picnic areas where grills are provided. You are welcome to bring a grill with you. For your convenience, Fontana now offers alcohol for sale.

Guests staying in the cabins may bring a pet for a fee of $150.00 per pet. The pet fee is non-refundable. A credit card will be kept on file until an inspection of your cabin has occured. You will be charged accordingly for any damages.

Reservations canceled prior to 30 days of arrival will result in a $50.00 forfeiture of your deposit. The remainder will be refunded. Reservations cancelled less than 30 days will forfeit the full deposit. Early departures will be charged. Our check in time is 4:00pm and check out is 11:00am. Requests for specific units and/or areas noted, however are not guaranteed.

If you will be joiningb us in the off-season, you may wish to call ahead for the hours of operation of the Retail and Restaurant outlets. Reservations are suggested for our Mountview Bistro for parties of 6 or larger. You may call ahead for reservations or schedule them once you arrive. You may also check our web site at www.fontanavillage.com for more information. Once again, thank you for your patronage. We look forward to seeing you soon.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT OUR REGISTRATION OFFICE HAS MOVED TO THE LOBBY OF THE MAIN LODGE.

Sincerely,

Reservation Department
Fontana Village Resort

WindyCooper, Jenn B has got it right!!!! I'm a retired engineer (enginerd as my daughter has always refered to 'my' profession); I'm 62; wife is 60; We love our 2007 pepper-white cabriolet..:TILLLEY"! My neighbors love theirs and they're 64 and 66!! When asked why I have one, I respond with: "kids are gone; love to travel and met people; and most importantly, because I can!!

The club is great; lot's of very nice people from all walks. We've enjoyed every meeting and trip. PS: I was following another MINI at 95mph, and the only problem was that I couldn't get a break to pass...we've grown old not up!!!

You can tell by my last post how out of touch I am; my previous comment was from a discussion back on page 12 (then I discovered the next 8 pages!!) OK..old guys are fine with MINI's, but slow on computers!! Looks like I've missed the patch order, shirt order, and picnic plans. We made our reservations at Fontana a long time ago, therefore, we'll certainly be there and looking forward to it. Will the patches and shirts be on sale there? or, is there anyway I can still get in on them? Bring me up to speed on the picnic also...where, when, what to bring? Thanks

Jason, as for cook out logistics, I have found an approach that will handle about anything: "throw money at it." ;-) The point is, let's all bring an extra $10, we'll make an inventory of what we need and send delegates to the grocery store to get the stuff. No prep req'd and we get exactly what we need.

Just an idea...

That's not a bad idea. That way we can get what we need, without the worry of having to lug it with us up there and having too much, etc.

good idea

I like that idea, for us coming from so far away, and not knowing our way around there, I would rather give some money to someone and not have to worrie about it
