I just ordered a 2016 JCW CM with no Sunroof and a manual. I will be doing my normal mods, of a Tune Stage 3/4, big turbo, big valve head, DP and cosmetics. My question is regarding the AWD power split, how does it work. Does the CM launch in FWD or AWD, 50/50 or 70/30? I have heard lots of answers, but nothing concrete. If it takes off with. FWD, then can I add my extra LSD laying around, since I own a manual transmission? Any help would be great. Thanks Mario BTW GP2 will be forsale soon mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer

All I know of my AWD is from BMW-

The agile handling of the MINI - referred to as the go-kart feeling - has been enriched by an additional facet since 2010. The market launch of the MINI Countryman saw the brand's hallmark driving fun literally conquering new ground - not to say rough terrain. It was made possible by the all-wheel drive system ALL4, offered as an alternative to the front-wheel drive otherwise used by MINI. The system is based on an electromagnetic centre differential and distributes drive force at continuously variable levels between the front and rear axle. In normal situations on the road, up to 50 per cent of the drive torque is directed to the rear axle - in extreme situations such as when driving on ice or snow this figure can go up to 100 per cent. The control electronics of the ALL4 system integrated directly in the DSC unit enables power transmission to be altered as required, responding within milliseconds. Based on the data captured by the DSC system, the distribution of drive power is selectively adjusted early on when taking a bend at speed, for example, so as to ensure optimum agility while preserving the entirely safe driving properties that are typical of MINi.

Split on the ALL4 is approximately 60:40 F:R (it's not exactly, but close - 56:44 or something). It is capable to transferring 100% of the power to the front in case of slippage, as needed. It will also begin to transfer all the power to front as you come up to speed - when you hit around 60 mph, 100% of the power is going to the front all the time to optimize fuel consumption.

Yep , in the article, has to be for fuel mileage for sure to have it all on the front. Drive train loss and all.

taken literally that press release says 100% to the rear in snow. That would be fun!

It's the opposite. 100% can go to the front, not the rear. About 50% can go to the rear
