Oil Change due for almost new JCW?

Bought in April, and at around 2500 miles I see a Service Due message on the center speedo screen. Check the Car app on Miniconnected and it says oil service due. Does that make sense? The car was only 3 months old.

not sure if it's right or not, but it's not a bad idea. i flushed my oil a few times before 1k miles actually and have been getting really good wear patterns right off the bat

I just wondered if it was normal to get an alert this soon, maybe JCWs are different. I didn't get a service alert on my 2007 MCS until like 15k miles, the dealer does it at one year anyway. I know they decreased the mileage but 2 months?

Did the car go unsold for 10 months? Check the production date on the driver's door sill.

Yes, it will be a time based thing. The car has probably been sitting undelivered for a long time, and the time schedule has come up for a fluid change, even though it has hardly been driven.

Get it changed. It certainly will not decrease the longevity of the car.

I think, like others are saying, that yours is a time based one. I built my MINI so it wasn't sitting on a lot. My first service was after 8k.

It's time based from when the dealer puts the car in service. If it has been sitting for a while I would be changing it even though the mileage was low
