Think I Just Bought the Last 2013 JCW

I've tried to like the new 2014s and just haven't been able to get over the front end. Haven't been particularly happy with our R59 Roadster, so figured I would pick up one of the remaining new 2013 JCW Hardtops at our local dealer earlier this week. Black/black with not a lot of options, but all the ones that were important to me. I was wondering how close to the last day of production it was made so using the BMW VIN archive site http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html I checked for any VINs subsequent to mine and there were none. I can input any VIN prior and see what it was. I know it doesn't get me anything extra, but I think it's cool that I could have the last R56 JCW with a VIN.

Will be installing red mirror caps and stripes prior to taking any pics. Hope to get that done this weekend.

Mini number eight and definitely my favorite.

I too have a 2013 JCW Hardtop. Black/BRG2, chrome line interior,H/K sound system, and BRG paint as the only options. Ordered 12/08/12 Delivered 3/8/13. What 's really cool about your car and mine is that they are the only JCW hardtops with the N-18 engine. Fun,fun, fun and nobody can take it away.

wow, that is impressive. I would think you are indeed very close to the end of the production line. I remember they stopped taking orders for 2013's last October...

Very cool. My JCW hardtop was also a November 2013 build.

Did you look up your exact build date?

There was an article on 11/29 saying the last R56 had rolled off the production line, but I am assuming that is the one that ends up in the museum.

One of my 06 R53s was also a last week or two of production. Guess it's safe to say that I am always resisting change.

Hey 1guru2, can you explain what you mean? I thought there were quite a few 2013 JCW hardtops with the N-18 engine? Is there really only two in existence?

Thanks!

Sorry bout that! Poor choice of words on my part. 2013 JCW hardtops are the only JCW hardtops with the N-18 engines, as well as the 2013 GP2. Before that JCW's had the N-14 engines. So, if you have a 2013 JCW Hardtop it is the only Hardtop with the N-18 engine, plus several thousand more somewhere in the world.. There are JCW coupes and converts in 2014 that I'm sure have the N-18 engines. The 2013 hardtop was the last of the gen 2 hardtops.

So, from what I can tell, it appears that there was one JCW Hardtop made on 11/19 (mine) and one S Hardtop made on the 19th, with no more VINs after those. They made a dozen or so Justas on 11/20 though, so I may have the last 2013 JCW but not the last R56. Interesting...at least to me.

Whoever has Justa T692668 and S T397279 should have the last of their model.

That is pretty sweet. I got the last JCW hardtop to come to my local MINI dealer, it felt cool. Red accents with the black was defiantly a great decision!

Very nice

I also added the red mirror caps on my 14 WS JCW Coupe. Like the contrast a lot. I added the rooster red door armrests to a very black interior to brighten it up a bit. Think it looks good especially against the CF door handles. Something you might want to consider. Not very expensive. Congrats. and enjoy your car.

The Rooster Red door armrests look great! Think we will be ordering those soon. Thanks for the pic. We had thought about changing the door surrounds to red but that was a bit pricey and I wasn't sure how they attached.

Yes, me too but I priced the dash and door pieces and it was very pricey and the door trim install looked painful. The armrests alone are about $69/each from Sewell with the NAM discount. Not too bad. I find them to be a superb vendor. Good luck.
