Difficult shifting

I have a 2013 JCW with 2500 miles, wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. It shifted like a hot knife through butter when new, but as time has gone on shifting has gotten less and less pleasant - at times it takes more force than it should to make certain shifts (3rd to 2nd is probably worst, but it's true of most gears going down or up), I can feel almost like a rubbery hang-up that I have to push through. At some times it will be just fine, and faster shifts tend to go through smoother than slower ones, so it's not consistent.

In the morning for the first couple of miles it will almost grind in a couple of gears, you can feel it grab just a little - I'm used to that in winter weather (had a manual Vette and a manual Shelby GT500 that did it), but never in summer. I'm going to take it in, but just wanted to see if it's just me - I didn't find many others saying anything about shifting issues.

I've driven a wide variety of only manual cars over ~25 years, I'm always fully engaging the clutch, I don't slam it into gear and I rev match on downshifts, so I don't think it's anything I'm doing. Any ideas?

I have never experienced this issue.

I would take the car in for service.

The shift linkage is cable operated and the cables need greasing every now and then. I think ours needs it but it's a 2010. Take it to the dealer and let them deal with it

Sounds plausible, but odd at 2500 miles, right?

+1 on making it the dealer's problem!

Thanks guys, I'll definitely take it in. I'm just waiting for the "it shifts fine for us" line, but maybe that's just from dealing with Ford dealers in the past..
