...and now I have one.

I happened to see this little fella at a dealership down the street from where I work... figured I'd test drive it, purely for the sake of curiosity... bada bing, bada boom.

It's a 2009, and I plan to put 24 inch gold spinners on it, as well anything I can find at AutoZone that will stick to it with 3M tape.

It's a blast, and I'm very happy with it so far. I look forward to speaking with other owners, and learning how to put a cartoon PW mini in my sig.

Buy Accessport for it - it is a different car with a tune!

Masternut's right on! Hard to believe the difference on a stock JCW that the AP makes. Welcome! Love the PW with black wheels! BTW, PepBoys has a much larger selection of "stick-ons" than Autozone.

Can either of you get into some more detail on that for me? Is it a chip? What sort of results should one expect afterwards?

True @ Pep Boys having more stick-ons.

The Accessport connects to your ecm and changes your map. Stage1-3 depending on your mods. Im only stage 1 right now, but it's such a great difference in performance. Around 20hp and 40torque gains for stage 1, give or take. Def worth the money.

Wow. Those are pretty significant gains.

What other mods dictate what stage of mapping you can/should do?

A stock car can do stage 1. I think an exhaust and/or FMIC can jump u to stage 2. I dont remember what gets you to stage 3, most likely intake, exhaust, FMIC, and the water/meth set up? you can always check the Alta website, they should have the info there.

It totally changed my car... The clutch won't slip with factory tune when accelerating in 6th gear, but with stage 1 download the clutch won't hold. I agree with the 20 hp and 40 tq claims... has to be to make that much of a "seat of the pants" difference.

What do you mean by this? I'm confused.

He basically means the power gains from a Stage 1 is too much for his clutch, but I haven't experienced that.

My clutch has over 60k on it... The extra power just brought about it's eminent demise a bit quicker. I'm sure a fresh clutch would've held just fine. It still holds in lower gears, just not as well in 6th... Still drive it.
