2013 JCW on the Configurator -- Stimulus?

Judging only by the fact that you can now order an Aisin automatic on your JCW, I guess that the 2013 configurator is updated and active.

If so, what's the stimulus to spend almost $7,000 to step up from S to JCW? Is it for the 28 hp, black headliner, red roof, and one-inch-larger wheels? I don't see any new colors. JCW suspension still costs a bunch more. What's the hook?

I think you are mostly spot on but I just read thru the summary of the "build" I put together and toward the end it says...

"Meet the new, performance-tuned, 208-hp MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop. Bred for the track with upgraded brakes, transmission, and exclusive 17” alloy wheels, the aggressive yet precise handling will blow you away.

I'll have to do some research to see if about the brake and transmission upgrades... drilled rotors are an option... not sure about the transmission.

There is the obvious bodywork as well.

aero kit that costs nearly 3k and brakes that cost 2k. thats 5 of it right there. i guess the other 2 go for the exhaust and beefier engine internals and a different badge lol

but the same can be said about other brands...

335 vs M3
GTI vs R

The brakes are worth every $$ of that 2K they cost. Plus the body kit, bigger turbo, better internals, better exhaust, etc. And, from friend's MINIs I've seen on a DYNO, while the stock S's HP numbers are already listed as very conservative, the JCW's have been even more so.

PLUS, if you ever plan to put any mods on your car, you'll get a bit more boost out of each one.........

Anyways, search - this has been discussed to death!! I say it is worth it if you have the $$. If not, the MCS is a great car too.
The thread did start with a point being made that the 2013 JCW configurator is online and that the auto is available.

Yes, the other stuff could likely be Google but maybe there is also MY '13 specific items to be discussed.

100% valid for folks to use search as well but the fact that the thread went slightly off-topic... I think it is "new" that MY '13 JCW can be configured with the auto.

I believe they strengthen the manual for the JCW, anyone know if they've modified the automatic at all for the JCW model?
