Help me price my JCW
Help me price my JCW
I'm looking to sell my JCW this summer. Love the car, but we had a baby so I got a wagon for a daily driver.
I'm trying to figure out what the car is actually worth, so here is a description:
2009 JCW Laser Blue/Black (including Bonnett Stripes)
47,000 miles
JCW Body Kit (put on when new)
JCW Suspension (put on at 45K miles... so brand new)
New Tires @ 36,000 miles
New Brakes @ 36,000 miles
Oil Changed @ 46,000 miles (all maintenance records included)
Xenon Headlights
Bluetooth/USB Ipod
Comfort Access
Black Headliner
Front and Rear Fog lights
Steering Wheel Controls
Stock Speakers replaced with Focals (Amazing sound compared to stock)
The car is in fantastic condition. Always garaged.
KBB with NO options says $21-$22 for private sale.
I feel that since everything including the suspension is new on the car, and it has all the JCW goodies it should be worth a little more than that.
Is wanting $23K unreasonable?

I don't think so. But I "overpaid" for mine. Just depends on what's available to buyers in the market at the time. I wanted mine "now" and local so I paid. List your price and roll with it.
I'm responding to this kind of late, and you've probably already sold it, but I just purchased a 2009 JCW with 30k miles, and not the options you list. It does have slotted/drilled rotors, xenon lights engine sway bar, but no sun roof or anything else fancy. doesn't even have cruise control. Kind of a "bare bones" JCW, but I'm loving it. I paid $23,00 from a local Land Rover dealer here in Utah.
I am trying to sell my 2010 JCW with 17,000 miles and I am asking 25,500. I have seen dealers in my area trying to sell a 2010 with 17500 and they are asking $26,600. Heck I offered 18800 for a 2009 with 38k in Dallas on ebay(April 2012).. And they dealers sent me emails saying this is a JCW not a reg cooper and etc... Anyway after 3 or four months they sent me an email saying they accept it lol... haha However I already bought my 2010... And yes i am trying to sell it... i am impulsive and would like to have my $500 a month back.. This isnt the first Mini i have sold only after 4 months.

There is a local dealer here who is selling a 2011 JCW with 15k miles on it for only $22,923. CarGurus says the "Instant Market Value" of this vehicle is $29,186. They are calling this a "great deal", which it probably is. Don't know if this helps. I just got my 2009 JCW with 30k miles two months ago for $23,000. At the time I thought it was a fair deal, but now I'm felling a little ripped off.
Something i do not understand is how there appears to be two market places for here.
If I click here https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e/cars/search/
I do not see your ad
but then clicking a different "marketplace" https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...cat.php?cat=20
hmmm....

I looked at MINI2. Isn't it British? All of the cars for sale on their are in Pounds instead of US$.
I take that as you saying that $21,500 is fair?
I must be blind (haha). I can't seem to find it. Can you send me a link?
ya, that sounds about right... do a search on auto trader, include "john cooper works" as part of the keyword search. youll get a pile of cars. your about right in the middle, but id look hard at them, see the options, body kits, mileage, bla bla bla, then put yours up accordingly.
see if this link works

again, check the listings hard, bc after looking at the 2nd car, it only has JCW wheels, but shows up in the search... so not all of these are JCWs...

Most of those cars are MINI Cooper S with JCW tuning kit. They are not a Factory JCW with the exclusive wheels and the Brembo brake kit. Neither of those sites has the 2009-2012 JCW as a Model, even though since 2009 it's been it's very own model line.
Here you go: http://www.mini2.com/forum/usa/
They don't have the same marketplace section as they do for the international section, but at least you can post it on a regional thread.

well, seems like Mini is one of the few brands out there with this "special" line of cars, JCWs, so perhaps its just not feasible from a programming standpoint to have so many sub-models of one car type.
IMO, this type of "problem" will always exist with any car purchase. heck, even ppl in PERSON claim they have JCW cars when they are clearly NOT; but rather just have some JCW bits stuck onto the car.
research research research!!!
