New Blk/Blk/Blk JCW picked up 1-4

Picture is in my gallery but to big for here. Picture is the car pulling up to detail. I had them pul the plastic off and they hosed it down no drying.
I am having a Venture Shield done whole hood and all the exposed areas.
Detailer is goi9ng to go over the paint ith a clay bar first and treats all the interior surfaces too. I was headed out of town and they called it was in.
I think it was there Monday but my MA was off- Missed 0.9 finance and have 2.9 now. They have a rebate but I didn't have those items. Auto-Comfort pkg-bluetooth- I got connected which includeds comfort Blue tooth but not the right code so I got zero. Now to the car. I traded in my 2010 with just under 12k on it after 140 months.

Ride- I was expecting the ride to be stiffer and harsher in the JCW vs. the
2010 S. The S was jarring when you hit expansion joints, etc. The JCW
is much smoother and takes the bumps much better. Greatly improved
which I was not expecting. I think the tires are part of it. See next
item. I was expecting a harsher ride as a trade off and got a better
ride with better handling. Ditching the Rf's in the spring will only make
it better.

Tires- 17" Dunlops RF's on JCW vs S W/16" Conti Run Flats- Again I was
expecting a harsher ride in the JCW and 17" tires. Not the case.
I think the Dunlops have a much softer sidewall than the Conti's.
I was expecting the 17 RF to be so bad with the jCW I woudl switch to
NRF right away. I will wait til spring as i am very happy with the ride.
I think the grip is better to than the conti when new. Too early to tell
about handling as it was dark and wet, frosty last night. I do not think
the turn in is as good as the Conti's. I will know more once I push it a
bit.

xenon Adaptive lights- I think they are more self leveling than adaptive. I am
not sure I could see any ovement left or right. Maybe and extra foot or
2 int he direction you are turning but not noticable. The lights are
awesume and should be standard equipment on any car. My 201 had
standard lights and they sucked at night even witht he brights on. I
live out rural and it is dark. Had xenon on my MB 350SLK and they
are as good as offroad lights. These are just as good as the MB.
Comparing them. The standard lighting is like a candle and should be
illegal with this technonlogy available. Lights up the road like daylights
but with a better light.

Clutch- Smoother and more progresive. Not heavier at all. Much better
sportier feel. Likes to quick shift. I like it a lot more.

6 Speed Trans-Not sure if it is different than the S or not.Gear ratios seem
a bit different and it seems much smoother. Old one was a bit notchy.

Mini Connect- Love everything about it. Love the toggle switch to hunt
through the menu's. Hooked up my Android phone and finds the
phone list. Voice command works great. Phone Home-Done. Sound
is much better too. People can hear you but you sound distent or
like a speaker phone. But they can hear you. Car has less road noise
too. Quieter inside for sure. Tires help too. Need to try Ipod today.
Very modern and cool feature.

HK Sound- Wow what an improvement over the standard. Very well set up i for the car. Missed not having Sirus in my 2010. Mini Screen is great
with the sound system. Lots of information.

Power- Smoother power but not running it to hard yet as it needs to break
in. This car has LSD and the new software for torq steer elimination.
It works!. No more jumping 3 feet to right looking like you can't drive.
Pulls hard straight and smooth with no feel of loss of power. Need more
time and break in miles.

Taking it in now. Clear Bra whole hood and all wear spots. Flat Black Viper stripes with red Pin striping on outside. Tinting the windows.

Thanks Adam you have resizing skills. Not a great picutre as it was pre detail. Leaving in 20 Minutes to drop her off for clear bra, tint and stripes. More picture when done.

Going with a wrap-Matt Black. All the chrome, grill, headlights, tail lights, Blacking out the reverse lights, Side reflectors, door handles and gas cap. It will be murdered out. Clear Bra on any exposed areas + whole hood. Protection film for windscreen, headlights and fogs. Tinthing the windows 35% all around to be legal but we are going to do 50% on the windscreen which will make it look very dark inside but visibility out will be great. If I get checked the side are legal 35. Detailing the the car with paint treatment and conditioning all the seats and interior. Just over 3K total whanit is all said and done. Also doing flat black viper stripes-7 inches wide each and we are going to lay some red under the black on the outside edges so it will have a red 1/2 inch wide pin stripe on the outside of the viper stripes highlighting them. The film guy was all over the car with suggestions.

I also have a black/black 2011 JCW. I had all my windows tinted by Accutint in Shoreline. I had all the windows done with ceramic tint. It works really well at keeping the inside form gettin hot in the sun. I think 50% on the windshield will not be legal in Washington. I used Air Blue 85% on the windshield. Can barely tell its there, I wanted it for UV protection. One thing that I did that you might like, When Accutint was doing my windows and sunroof. I also had them do a clear bra. When they got to the headlights they used a tinted clear bra on them.
The tinted head lights look fantastic, it finishes off the murdered out look for the front and I was not able to see any effect on lighting the road. I tried to resize a picture of my MINI but didn't get it small enough to post here. If you would like to see I cold email the picture.

Does this mean you're covering all other exposed areas of the car with a clear cover??

very nice! pretty much exactly like mine, minus mini connected.

I haven't seen a whole lot of real world driving advantage with the adaptive lights, but when I picked up Ninja 2.0, I sat in the garage and turned the wheel back and forth to just watch the lights move... it gave me a lil chuckle

Goth- Just the exposed areas to rock chips- Whole front end, full hood, A Pillers, Front fenders, Windshield_special Windscreen-New, all Lights, Rear shelf at rear hatch, door handles. I would have done the rockers like I did on my Maserati but they are all plastic and will not chip.

Dez so you could see them moving in the garage. I will have to try that.
I can sem them level over hills etc. The Adaptive was 100 bucks so not a big expense but kind of cool. For me the light up the woods a bit more and with all the deer waiting to run out they do give a little advantage. The highbeams light up the night for sure

Car is not done today and it willbe next week now. Turns out the hood and 2 small ding in it. it said they were hard to see but you could see them. They went over the car with fine tooth comb for the clear bra. He said it looks like
to hand leaned all there weight on the hood. Having them removed by his paintless repair guy. LOTS OF BLACKING OUT IN PROGRESS PLUS THEY ARE
moving there shop to this weekend to a new location. Monday or Tuesday as they need to repair the hood first now.

Island maser, I guess I'm either too much or not enough of a nerd, but I can't figure out how to get that private message thing to work.

My MINI has xenons, premium package, Ipod/bluetooth, rear fog, factory alarm, and white turns. I got it with the standard suspension and have put on a 22mm rear sway bar and will soon put on coil overs.

I was thinking wider on mine too. Hard to control everything in the process when you are not there.
