I've had my 2009 Factory JCW Clubman for about 15 months, but my husband and I recently started becoming more involved in our local MINI community, and now I'm wondering if my JCW has all it is supposed to. The only JCW badging anywhere on the car is the front and rear badges, and on the wheels. There is nothing at all in the engine compartment, not even a MINI logo. Is this correct? My husband has an S hardtop, and my mom has a justa convertible, and they both have MINI logos on their engines. I feel like I'm missing out!
Also, I've heard that I should've received some sort of certificate authenticating the car as a JCW. However I've also heard this is only provided for JCW tuning kits. Did anyone get a certificate with their factory JCW?

I have a 09 JCW. I have the MINI logo on the engine. There is a JCW flag badge (a domed sticker) on the secret compartment, the door above the glove box.

No certificate. You are confusing the dealer add on JCW kit that provides a sticker in the engine bay, a tune, a new airbox and an exhaust that is similar to a factory JCW (it has has nice engraved exhaust tips.) but not the same.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like the only thing I'm missing is the MINI logo on my engine. Guess I'll be asking about that the next time I'm at the dealer!

 

We have had 4 MINI's and we have one '09 S that does not have the MINI badge on the engine. It's just one of those weird MINI eccentricities.

 

BMW/MINI got cheap and did not put that badge on your engine. I am sure your dealer will be happy to sell you one.

 

My 2010 JCW lacks JCW decals/badges under the hood as well. This is by design and not an accidental omission. If you truly wanted the JCW bling under the hood then you can purchase the JCW badge that's on the exterior of the boot.

 

I don´t have the MINI badge at the engine either , but when I understood that it sholud be one there , I called my dealer and he sent me one immediately :-)

 

I wonder why they decided to leave the factory JCW so bland under the bonnet. My husband and I have started to go to more car shows, and he really wants to put the bonnet up, but what's the point when it looks exactly like his S, except without even a MINI logo?!

 

I have a JCW Clubman and believe.........that I do have a MINI badge on top of the engine, but I will double check when I get home.

Unlike 1st gen JCW MINIs that came with a unique silver intercooler cover w/JCW logo, the new JCWs do not have anything special under the hood.

But.........we do get JCW side sills (dealer-installed accessory on 1st gen cars), the checkerboard sticky badge on the glove compartment, front and rear badges, and many performance changes .

 

MY JCW only had badges on the grill and the rear.
