That may be the situation, as I've only hit the Sport button a couple of times. I've got 1077 miles on it now, so I guess it's time. But, as for the no power increase with the Sport Button engaged, well the first time that I engaged it, I did notice a power difference. Those front wheels rather smoked the tread. Just my opinion, of course, but that's what I noticed, also the clutch action seemed different. Didn't notice anything with the steering, but here again, I find nothing wrong with the feel in the steering. I think some guys/gals are a bit too picky on the technicalities. I want the best too, but so far I have no complaints. Oh yes there is, I still can't figure out how to set the radio stations. Of course I could probably read the manual on radio stations, probably.
as per what i know the sport button, quicken the throttle response, steering will be a bit harder, it makes the exhaust to crackle n pop, n it increases the tourqe.
ohh 1 more thing, i'm having a break noise from first day of delievery .. anyone faced that? when ur moving n stopping for example like when u r in a traffic, smooth stopping? it started like that different than the normal break pads noise n yesterday started the normal break pads noise .. i didnt even apply strong breaks nor sudden breaks !!!!!
Is it an annoying sqeaking/squeeling noise? I think just about everyone gets that with the Brembos.

Please, there are dozens of threads on NAM about the sport button function, backed up by info from MINI itself. The sport button DOES NOT increase power or torque. It does quicken throttle response, which can feel like a power increase but it's not. Furthermore if you're WOT, there is no difference, fully open is fully open. I does electronically alter the steering to give it a better "tighter" feel, and it does increase the ECU's settings of the built in snap, crackle, and pop.

My 2009 JCW squeaked, mostly when backing up, for its entire life with me. My 2011 didn't squeak...for the first few days.... .... but it's now doing it too when backing up cold in the morning. I don't think there's anything wrong or an easy cure, it's just part of the Brembo's characteristics.

Ya something like that .. its similar to a whistle .. kind of

with me the same but when they get hot, not cold .. for example if i cruise for less than 20 mins it starts when i nearly stop until i fully stop .. n if im moving very slowly n holding on the break not fully it starts until i fully stop n when backing up happened once only, n they were a bit cold, but most of the time, not when cold.
Do u guys think the Drilled JCW Break Disk will cure it? or at least making it better, n just want to make sure of something, in our dealer when changing the break pads, they change the break discs too !!!

its weird, all that time i thought it increases the torque, coze i read in
an article about JCW, mentions that it increases it .. anyways, im sorry for giving fault details.
My Mini isn't a JCW but my brakes kinda groan every once and a while under light braking.... Dealership hasn't said anything about it and isn't anything wrong with the brakes...
Can someone snap a couple of pix for me on a 2011 JCW. I really like the look of the new colors on the gauges. I have only seen them in far away interior shots but would like to get a better look at them. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it's just not showing up in the pics, but does your JCW also have red stitching on the boots for the shifter and parking brake handles? My US model does.
With all the red accents on the interior that just confirms that I will use red for the pin stripes outlining the matte black viper stripes. Still probably a month away but I am jonesing for it to get here.

You and me both! Mine is apparently sitting at the docks in Southhampton waiting to board a ship. The bad part is, if I'm reading the schedules correctly it won't leave until the 22nd. It seems there just aren't as many ships bound for Port Hueneme (California). This is painful.
The new red stitching is one of my favorite things about the '11 JCW interior. I elected to keep the dash/door rings black and went with the rooster red color line. I think it'll look pretty sharp and hopefully not too overdone. I'm with you on the stripes as well. I think a red pin stripe would look great.
Good looking car JCW666 How do you like the JCW shifter? Just installed mine yesterday and really like it, fits perfectly and makes shifting feel easier.
