Hey, being new here, I wondered if someone might be able to tell me how to start a new thread? I've looked around for a link, but can't seem to find one. I'm sure it is in front of my eyes and so obvious that I'll be pretty darned embarrassed when I discover how clueless I am, but could someone tell me? Thank you!

no need to be embarassed. sometimes the most obvious things are right in front of you. to start a new thread, simply go to the main page (like "Factory JCW Talk (2009+)") and you'll see an icon on the upper left that says "New Thread."

Got Mine Today

Got mine today after it had a long tour of duty at the VDC and dealer. Somehow, it showed up sans arm rest which is making it awkward to drive versus my 07. Hopefully, easily rectified with factory parts? Also, clutch is very girly with little feedback. And lastly, pax window will not close all the way---UGH UGH UGH. All that said, it sure is pretty!

Looking at the photos, I have one question for you: Did you order the JCW Aero kit or is this the way that it came?:

For those of you that might like to see real pictures of a 2011 JCW, but this one is in Spicy Orange on a dealers site, go to: Bill Jacobs Mini in Naperville. They have one listed with pictures. Looks great, and what I would have ordered before I found out about the Black with Red roofs. Check it out.

Just checked on the Bill Jacobs site and they now have a couple more JCW's, the one that caught my interest is the Eclipse Gray with the Chili Roof, also they have a ragtop JCW. None with my interior though.

Thanks, I needed that. Very close to mine, but still lots of differences, especially the interior and Blackened wheels. Makes the blood start turning, and anxiety.

jcw666: Thanks again. Still can't find out where my cargo ship is. It is suppose to hit Baltimore on Tuesday, but haven't been able to GPS it since Monday. Lil Guy says that he thinks that the Captain is lost. He keeps telling everybody that they're in the same place as they were yesterday, and then the day before, so he's lost.

About time you took some detailed shots of your Laser Blue guy isn't it? Interesting that you got those wheels. I don't know what I'm going to do for wheels. I'm going to put winter tires on the Challenge wheels, then I don't know what. I, really like the Rota RB's, but not exactly thrilled over having to use 15 mil spacers on the fronts. There's some other Rotas that look kind of nice and are light, too. We'll have to see.

Price seems high considering there are no options listed and it has pleather seats.

Great jcw Jesse! Sharp color!

Hemi are you hunting for the aero? I haven't gotten a straight answer about availability for 2011. Certainly they think it's not available yet. I'd love to see one

In my estmation, their options were off, but I am not a sunroof guy. That put and extr $1000 on to the option cost, as I did add the H&K sound system. That's one option that they listed. This Spice Orange is what I would have ordered if my wife wouldn't have stepped in and said that I would probably tire of the Orange. So my Black and Red.

The factory Aero Kit is NOT available this year. The JCW Aero kit is, but it is exactly like last years JCW Aero ll, with the brake ducts. The only change is the same rear fog lights, but with white back up lights in the middle of the light. I've only seen one example, other than the British version which only has one back up light tail light.

As for the Aero kit, I'm going to wait and see how I like the regular bumpers and all. What I would consider is the JCW side, below the doors unit. That would look cool with the standard Mini bumpers. I like the rear of the new 2011 with the larger rear fog lights, and even the funky front looks good without the chrome, to me that is. We'll just have to wait on the JCW Aero. Oh yes, in the Spring, I'm going to put the H&R Sport springs on it, to get it down a bit and improve the handling a bit. I'll probably MOD it little by little as time goes on. First is the an M7 turbo heat shield, then an the DoS CAI unit.

I hear ya. I found a pic of the window sticker that lists the correct options. It's a shame that a lot of mini dealer websites do not accurately list the options.

Hey, Lil Guy and all his new friends are waiting for those getting off at POE New York, so that we can continue on our cruise to Baltimore POE. It is interesting seeing the Fedora at port unloading. Tomorrow Baltimore POE and then....................

That would suck

And me, taking a rental car to Chicago to pick him up, then to find out that he had damage, parts missing, fenders/hood,hatch or doors that didn't fit right. Guess that I'd get another rental and come back to Iowa, I guess.

By the way, Lil Guy, and oh yes 7500 of his closest friends, have passed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel at the tip of Maryland and Norfolk, heading up the Chesapeake Bay at a whopping 15.8 knots per hour. They were making 19 knots per hour coming down from NYC POE, but that was downhill and they wanted to get past New Jersey fast. Don't know why!

Well, Lil Guy is probably off the boat now. Very difficult to see where they put the Mini's, as from the air, so many look the same. You can see a Mini here and there, but I'm kind of thinking that, maybe they are driven to some place and parked under roof for inspection. Just an idea. Anyone have any more thoughts on this? Or, know where they park them? The boat is still at port unloading as I speak, at the Baltimore POE.
