how will i know if i have sport susp or not?
Did you order it with the sports suspension? If not it won't have it. If you did order it, it will probably come with it.
Your MINI hasn't even entered production yet so why not just call your MA?

JCW Suspension
If you have the JCW suspension installed, you would have a sticker on the door jam of the driver's side next to the tire pressure information. Double-click the thumbnail below.

JCW Suspension
The JCW suspension is a great option. It keeps the car in better contact with the road which helps reduce body roll in hard cornering, nose dives on hard braking, and torque steer on hard acceleration. It has a modest drop, and wont jar you to death on city streets with potholes and uneven surfaces.

I tried to look But
I just went out to my garage and tried to look under my car to see what my suspension looked like but the car is to low and the shocks and springs are not visible at all. If I remember correctly when I got my new tires I noticed my coil springs around my shocks were painted "RED" and looked pretty beefy for the size of my JCW. My Shocks were "Black" and also looked pretty beefy. I don't know if this helps you or not. It is hard without a true comparison of what the non-sport & Sport suspension looks like side by side.
When I traded in my Vette I made sure to leave a list of the modifications I did and a copy of the window sticker in the owners manual for the next owner.
I sure wish I could help you with a way to get a copy of your original window sticker but I'm guessing that is just not gonna happen.
Chec out the photo I found on Google

Pull off a front wheel and look.
I would pull off a front wheel and take a look. If the coil springs are "RED" you have the Sport Suspension. If they are black you have standard suspension. I think that would be the easiest way.
Let us know what you see.
Let us know what you see.
Sport suspension springs are not red. They look exactly like the normal suspension.
The JCW springs are red.
Oh yes they are.
I can't tell you anything about the Dealer installed suspension but the "SPORT SUSPENSION" you pay $500.00 when buying a factory JCW are "RED" Check this out.
http://www.motoringfile.com/2007/08/...rt-suspension/
The Springs can not be any redder. This is a FACTORY JCW OPTION & is $500.00 extra when you order the car. "NOT" a dealer installed option"
I do have a Factory JCW and the Springs are red as is the Brake calipers.
Yep, they are red alright
I still say he needs to pull a wheel to see for his self.

You have standard suspension.
You can purchase the dealer installed JCW sport suspension but it is costly. The runflats are harder riding then non-runflats would be.
There are other suspensions you can purchase that would be less expensive then the genuine Mini parts.
This forum is a wealth of knowledge and I'm sure you can find some suggestions on what to buy to replace your standard shocks, sway bars & Springs. You just do not want to go so harsh that you won't enjoy driving your car on the street.
I really like my Factory JCW suspension but It was on my car at the time I bought it. $500.00 option. I probably would not have bought this car without it.
Keep us informed on what you decide to do. Maybe your dealer can give you a good discount on a Sport Suspension installed.

Ronnie, the picture you showed and the link are both of the $2000 JCW suspension. Ronnie, did you order your mini, buy off lot, or buy it used?

ronnie, I don't know how you ended up with red springs, but MotorMouth is correct. JCW Sport Suspension is not available from the factory. It can be purchased only as an after-sales accessory (installed by a dealer). Note that there's a difference between "sport suspension" which is available installed at the factory and "JCW sport suspension" which is only available from a dealer.

+1
My dealer told me that there are two sport suspensions available for the JCW. The first is the same sport suspension that can be ordered with any MCS. The second is the JCW sport suspension that is dealer installed. He actually tried talking me into the factory sport suspension saying the the JCW suspension would be too stiff, but I went with it and am happy I did.
If you go to the MINIUSA site and build a JCW or a MCS, the sport suspension option for both costs $500 and is the same product. It's about half way between the the stiffness of the stock suspension and the dealer installed JCW suspension.
I don't believe the regular sport suspension lowers the car at all. The JCW suspension lowers it about 10mm. So if you have the JCW suspension, and you pulled next to a JCW with out it, you could see the difference in the space around the wheel well.
By the way there are a lot of after market springs for the MINI that are red in color. Just because there are red springs on the car doesn't necessarily mean the JCW suspsension is installed.
Go to the dearer and have them put your car on the lift. They will know what suspension you have installed.
Well I guess I got cheated by Mini USA
My window sticker said I have Sport Suspension and I did pay the $500.00 extra for it. My springs are """RED""" and I guess they just charged me $500.00 to paint my springs red.
There has always been confusion
Here is a link to the official information on the JCW suspension vs the sport suspension. There has always been some confusion regarding the spring color and the part numbers of some of the components.

My understanding is that the JCW suspension also has different struts which lower the car, and larger sway bars front and rear. Attached is a photo of the JCW suspension installed with a good look at the larger rear sway bar.
Ronnie948, is your car with the factory sport suspension lower than a car with a stock suspension? Can you upload a photo of the wheel well gap?

The JCW suspension can be installed at the VPC so that when it shows up at the dealership it would have the red springs.
If you bought the car brand new and you have red springs that you didn't pay $2k for you should be very happy because somebody at VPC messed up big time - in your favor.
If you bought it used there is no telling if the springs are even official MINI springs. JCW struts do have a JCW logo on them though.

I bought My car brand spanking new.
My Car was bought brand new by Me the end of October 2008. It showed 7 miles on it when I signed the Papers. It showed 10 miles on it when I picked it up after they put the sport stripes, Floor Mats and did the dealer prep. If you look on my window sticker you will notice that I paid $500.00 for the "SPORT SUSPENSION" so I really don't think they slapped it on at the dealers. My car handles excellent. I have run Hot Laps at Daytona Speedway with my club and my friend Jack can not keep up to me going through the road course. He does catch up to me on the backstretch but I leave him in the chicane. My car handled excellent even with the Dunlop Runflats. I now have Michelin Exalta PE2 non-runflats and can't hardly wait until we run Daytona again. We will probably do it well after they get done resurfacing the track. The club did do Homestead speedway a couple of months ago but I could not make it.
The way my car handles and is very stable at high speeds on bumpy road surfaces is perfect. I really do not care what color the springs are even though they are :"RED:"
All I know is that Bruno787 will need to get to his dealer and have them put it on a lift and they then could tell him exactly what he has. I think I had heard that the factory JCW suspension that is "NOT" the $500.00 option is the same as you would get on any "S" Mini Cooper.
Here are pictures of my tires and wheel wells. I don't know if my car is lower then other Mini's but it is looking OK to me. 215/45/17 Michelin Exalta PE2's

My front air dam hanging under my car is only 3 inches on the ends and 5 inches in the middle from the ground I do not want it any lower.
