TSW lowering springs question
TSW lowering springs question
i have just recently purchased a 2009 JCW hardtop with sport suspension. The car is daily driven and all i really want to do is lower it a little bit (TSW linear springs). not too much crazy driving and i probably will not see any track time.
i'm choosing the tsw springs because they are linear and offer the most modest drops of all the springs. i dont want a crazy drop since i used to drive a slammed honda and it was horrible as a daily driven car. i don't need coilovers since i probably will not track it but i also don't want to sacrifice handling performance over stock.
the questions are:
1. will this void warranty?
2. since it is a modest drop will this cause major changes to the suspension geometry?
3. any thoughts or opinions?
thanks,
marc

Marc,
I run this setup and track it..
01) No, unless a failure happens that can be linked to the springs (unlikely).
02) It will change. Major no, but it will. Have an alignment done afterwords.
03) Very neutral spring. Very easy to drive on and live with. You should be very pleased. Congrats!

Ditto this...
Jeff and company are one of the few vendors that I would go out of my way to recommend. Unless they are out testing/tracking they are quick to reply to emails and phone calls. Their stuff is built like tanks and actually tested before it's sold......

I believe the JCW Sport setup has red springs. If the springs have part numbers on them cross reference it on the above link.

You should go with the JCW Suspension. No warranty issues, modest drop and no major changes.
The TSW springs are great for modest drop, comfort and tightening up the MINI.
When I did my alignment after letting the springs settle for 3 months, the dealer alignment technician set up my 07 with the 09 JCW alignment specifications.
Worked out great, I just returned from a 3600 mile trip to TN/NC from Colorado. I have had my TSWs on about 2 years.
