JCW, will get an upgrade soon?

I planing to order in the coming days JCW 2010.
Today the dealer wrote me that if I order a Cooper S, Not JCW, the car will come with 184 horsepower
I found more information about the Cooper S upgrade here:

http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...2-more-hp.html

And now I'm confused whether to order the JCW that may also soon get an upgrade, or whether to wait with the order/

Is there any information if the JCW also will get an upgrade soon?

Thank for the help

As far as I know this is all that has been said about the revised JCW to date:

http://www.motoringfile.com/2010/04/14/11655/

http://www.leftlanenews.com/mini-joh...orks-2011.html

Hope that helps...

But the JCW already has 200+ bhp so.... why is the dealer contact saying not to get it and get the MCS? If horsepower is what you are after, get the JCW.

The new engine that is going into the MCS is more fuel efficient as well. It looks like a great engine.

The dealer meant just to tell me that the Cooper S has already received the update while the JCW didn't got it yet.

According to the Articles that minimini482 post, the JCW will be sold starting in September with all this updates:
Aero-kit as standard
Improving engine, about 215-220 horsepower and improved fuel consumption
Navigation system as standard, and probably several options.

If I'm ordering the car this month, the car will come in three months, on August.
If I will wait till September and then order the car, then I would get it in December with all the updates.
What do you think I should do?

Has anyone heard if the price will go up for the 2011 JCW? Will there be different colors available? Will it be available without the aerokit?

Ain't a darn thing wrong about a JCW now!!!!

I think that BMW is going to have a hard time improving a JCW. My 2009 is great. The engine produces great horsepower & torque and with the sport suspension my car is just plain perfect. The six speed transmission shifts like a dream. The car is extremely quick and corners like it is on rails. I get between 26 & 34 miles per gallon depending on how I drive and can get better if I'm on a long slow drive. The brakes are excellent and the seats are very comfortable. It is just a great hi-performance car that not only looks great but is more fun to drive then anything I have ever owned. I just got out of a 98 Corvette.

I bought this JCW in October 2008 and have almost 14,000 trouble free miles on it. You are not going to regret not waiting.

14000 miles?

What, where have you been keeping your JCW? Only 14K on the clock. You're suppose to drive the beast, not leave it parked. Just giving you a hard time, you probably have something else to drive, not like me and my car is my only means of transportation. Oh, my wife has her Jeep, but that's hers. Hey, get her out and drive her.

I would second most of what ronnie948 has said, and I got my MINI at the end of last October and I've put 10k plus trouble free miles on it so far. My only quibble with MINI is the build quality regarding panel and trim alignment, and squeaks & rattles in the interior. Those are minor annoyances when the driving enjoyment, economy and performance are so great. My mileage is also around the 26/34 EPA estimates, and I can get near 40 MPG on a long stretch at 65. I get on it a fair bit and still return over 30 MPG overall. More power is always nice, but unless you take it to the track, I don't think you'll really take advantage of any more power in a fwd car this size.

Stupid $&%@# Cancer got me garaged a lot.

Hi Hemisedan, I have Prostate cancer and spent two months in the Veterans Hospital in Tampa. I had to cut out a couple of vacation trips due to doctors appointments etc. My trip to Maryland along with last summers trip to Denver are put on hold for a while. I do have my Suzuki Samuari I use to go to the store or take my dogs to the dog park. I missed Micky & Mini as well as the Dragon but I will be back in the running soon. I love driving my JCW. It is the best driving and most fun driving car I have had since my 1960 English Ford Angelia (Heavely modified).

Hi Pathy01, I don't have a single rattle in my JCW. It is probably because I had a Corvette before and can't reconise a rattle if it hit me in the ears.
The fit & finish in my car is flawless. I can not find one thing that is wrong. I guess I really lucked out on this Mini because it seems to be perfect in every way. OH! maybe not---THE RUNFLATS HAVE GOT TO GO!!!!

My sentiments exactly. Well except for the Corvette part. I came out of a 2006 BMW 330xi. I picked up my car on 11-29-08. I have a bit over 16,000 miles on my car.

The car is a blast to drive. Its very different and I know that there is not another one on this planet that looks exactly like my car does.

And doing all the mods has been lots of fun.

Ronnie,

Boy this makes me feel like crap, sorry to hear about your health issues. All of us of the senior ages seem to have problems, me included, but when it advances to the Big C, well that's a different story. Anyway, keep the faith, I have enjoyed the articles that you have posted about some of the things that you've done to your JCW. Take care, and as I said before, get out and drive the JCW. Happy Fathers Day.

Do not feel like crap- I'm gonna be fine.

I'm sure the cancer is gone. I still get very tired from the radiation treatments. The big reason is all of the follow up blood tests and Doctors appointments are stretched out just enough that I don't have a long enough window to really go anyplace. I really don't want to cancel or postphone any of the appointments because I use the VA healthcare system and I don't want to make waves. They would probably put me on the back burner if I cancelled an appointment. They do take very good care of me. I also have COPD that needs medications and doctors appointments.
I will be hitting the road as soon as I get a long enough window to take my dog and go. I'm hopeing to go to Denver in August. I have friends living there and I want to go to Mini in the Mountains if I can swing it. I would like to do Mini takes the states but that will be impossable.

This is my dog Mario and he is my best friend. He loves the Mini and likes to travel.

ron,

Hey, you always have to have a co pilot. Looks like he fits the Mini very well.

I've thought about when I get my little guy this Fall, to take in one of the major Mini tours if possible. No way that I could do a border to border tour, but maybe a couple of days. Like pick up the tour in Kansas City or St. Louis and go somewhere. Of course I have a hotrod that can go on the Hotrod Reunion Tour too. But, those are for days when I have more vacation time.

Take care of yourself, and like I said before, get that JCW out. See ya.

Ronnie,

Looks like you have an excellent co-pilot. Glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. Best of luck.

Bill---My brother is into Hot Rods

My brother has a 32 ford and drives it just about everyplace he goes. He was in York Pa. two weekends ago for a hot rod show. I'll try to dig up a photo of his car and you may run into him at some show sometime in the future.
Ronnie

He is in the process of buildig a roadster with a fold down top now. It should be done in about another 6 months or a year. He works on it as he accumalates $$$

I found a picture of Mikes car. If you are at a show and see this 32 coupe with Florida tags say hi to Mike. It is reallt more turquise in color then this shows.

Anglia vs JCW? NO WAY!

I love driving my JCW. It is the best driving and most fun driving car I have had since my 1960 English Ford Angelia (Heavely modified).
OMG! You're comparing a JCW to an Uglia!?!? I used to have one of those when I was in college, over 30 years ago. What a piece of junk! No horsepower, no handling, poor reliability, expen$ive to fix, rattles up the yin/yang, etc, etc. I replaced burnt valves in that sucker more times than I can remember. Also, as I recall it had a positive ground electrical system (which made installing a stereo a PitA) - as well as Girling brakes and clutch slave cylinder, and of course lights by the Prince of Darkness (Lucas).

I guess I really lucked out on this Mini because it seems to be perfect in every way. OH! maybe not---THE RUNFLATS HAVE GOT TO GO!!!!
Ditto that on the runflats. I just replaced the fronts with a set of Continental Extreme Contacts, and I must say the difference is amazing! I was all ready to pony up $500+ for a set of Michelin runflats, but the guy at the tire shop convinced me not to. Glad I listened to him. As for perfect in every other way, I must disagree somewhat. My JCW required an entire new engine and turbo at 14.4K - fortunately all covered by warranty. I hope that's not a recurring problem. Oh, and I'm on my 3rd turbo now. Still, I love this car. It's da bomb!

Yep, I loved that car

I was 17 and that was my second brand new car. My first brand new car was a 1959 Fiat 500. I also loved that car. All 2 Cylinders. These were the greatest years in American History to live and I did Enjoy every single one of them. Car's, Girl's, Hot Rods, My Harley Davidson and Triumph Motorcycles. It was the days of """FUN"""
