I did MINI Select at the end of November. I put down 6 or 7k and got an interest rate of 8% I think and that is with excellent credit at almost 800. I did get a very nice discount on the car since it had been sitting around for a while and the dealership wanted to move it. The price was right and I know that the car will be worth more than what MINI says the residual will be in 4 years. I am going to keep the car forever. I am glad that I did not lease it.

I am in Iraq....and since they will only hold the rate for 90 days, I would have to reapply when I got home which would be a knock on the old credit score. I plan to shop around when I get home for better rates. USAA is notorious for good rates to military persons.

Ahh, that explains it. I got 4.9% on the car that i ordered. But, I had cancelled that order back in November. Things turned around now and it just so happened that my car was still at the dealership 2 months later.

I think you should look into Military Sales in Bahrain,, They can get you one with the base price of "John Cooper Works Hardtop: $26,650" I have heard they will be able to ship to states sometime this Spring.

Superior Motors MSP
491a, Strand Plaza
Road 4021, Area 340
Juffair, Kingdom of Bahrain

Tel.: 17 813 883

You can also google them for their currect numbers. I ebelieve you can buy a car over the phone practically, just fax them signatures and etc...This will keep you from buying the "LOt Ho" ..

____****((stop here to avoid reading baseless ranting)****______

Speaking of that I bet everyone who of us who have test drove the Lot Ho ignored all good enine break in procedures.. I know the Sales man in Charleston MIni had no problems shifting above 6000 RPM and sliding into a corner at about 30 MPH just to show me how i could drive it before my turn..

I would also like to know who in the Hell options these cars out? I mean all i want is HIfI and decent color.. and they have these others with sunroof auto a/c and leather,, but no Hi Fi.. Ching gow I would be more motivated to buy the LOt Ho if it had simplier options. The two that my dealer got have been sitting since their delivery day in Sept or Aug,,,, They are still there...

not if it's a car dealership running your credit. You can have up to 5 credit checks from car companies before it hits your credit. I learned this from one of my credit card websites that had a tutorial on credit scores.

I checked these guys out.....the base price is the same as the base I paid in the States. The guys at Superior are not sure that they can ship to the States, and if they can YOU have to pay for it. Then, they ship to the port, you have to pick it up/arrange to pick it up AND you get to pay the port fees. I ordered a JCW from the factory, with the options I wanted it came to $31,100ish after discount. The Superior deal is great if you are stationed in Europe. the MidEast or somewhere near there. There are a couple of other places that do the same deal, I just took their proposed deal, called a Mini dealer in the States, told them the deal, they matched it minues all the port fees and it comes to the nearest dealership.
